You work hard for your money. A smaller government means you can keep more of it. ACT would go further, but Budget '26 is finally shrinking the Wellington bureaucracy so we can protect the front line.

New Zealand’s public service has grown rapidly over the last few years 💸 Some say the growth was needed to improve services and manage major challenges. Others think bureaucracy has expanded too far without better results for taxpayers. What do you reckon? does the public service need trimming back, or are the cuts going too far? 👇

@1nzmw Our economy is too small. NZ bureaucracy would grow. We've owned BNZ before and it all but collapsed.

I'm not a fan of buying BNZ because: 1. Now that they know, the price has just quadrupled :-) 2. More debt that we can't afford to pay 3. We already have a Kiwi owned bank called Kiwibank Why don't we just do a partial privatisation or public listing of Kiwibank and make it so only Kiwis can buy shares. That way Kiwibank grows in size to compete with the Ozzy banks, Kiwis will invest in our own bank and the government doesn't need to go into more debt.

New Zealand First@nzfirst

New Zealand First will be proposing a buy-back of the Bank of New Zealand from National Australia Bank. It will be merged with Kiwibank to form the “National Bank of New Zealand (NBNZ)” – a fully Crown owned, commercially run, systemically significant domestic bank with the scale to genuinely compete with ANZ, ASB and Westpac. After all, when National sold BNZ to NAB in November 1992, it then had six of every ten New Zealand banking customers. This is a buy-back to put a New Zealand owned competitor on the field at the scale required to change the behaviour of the foreign-owned banks. READ MORE: nzfirst.nz/the_kiwisaver_…

"The Chinaman, and the Hindu also, are not desirable immigrants to this country. As a representative of the aboriginal race of New Zealand, I sympathise with the first immigrants to this country – the British – in the attitude they take up with regard to the influx of the Chinese and other Asiatics. My reason is this: that undoubtedly – I will not say the highest, but the best civilisation that has so far appeared on the face of this globe is the civilisation that is represented by the British race." @nzherald Why frame a headline like this and immediately take the “reckless” angle when many New Zealanders can clearly see our bureaucracy has become bloated, inefficient and unsustainable? A leaner, more focused government is not reckless if it improves outcomes, reduces duplication and frees up resources for the frontline services that actually matter. New Zealand is a small country. We cannot afford layers and layers of administration growing endlessly while productivity stalls and living costs rise. We should be aiming for a world-class public sector that is streamlined, narrower, effective and obsessed with outcomes. Super disappointing to frame it as a negative when clearly it is sensible.

Why would India be so keen to send its best ‘talent’ to western countries? 1. Remittances 2. To get political sway through the diaspora If I’ve figured it out, you can bet your life western leaders have. They just don’t care.

New Zealanders are a minority in Auckland and the overwhelming majority of Gen Z will never own a home. Let's not pretend the decisions of decades past were good in the long term. It's older generations burying their heads in the sand about our nations outlook that pisses gen z off, not a Marxist desire to blame others for our problems. Just because your generation experienced short term benefits, doesn't mean it didn't come with long term consequences that'll make things much much worse for future generations.

🚩 "Where the hell are the Kiwis?" The Auckland CBD 𝗠𝗰𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱'𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 photo looks like ANOTHER COUNTRY. The Feltons import EVERY SINGLE one of their shift managers on Accredited Employer Work Visas. This is “highly skilled work” apparently. Thank you Katrina Felton for making our country a better place. 🏖️ They’ve also recently bought 𝗠𝗰𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱'𝘀 𝗢𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗮. Staff have reported it used to be staffed by local Kiwi teens, but now, all new hires are Indian and Filipino. "SO DISGUSTING" said one Orewa resident, who claims the restaurant used to be so good until they changed owners. ⚠️Why don't the Feltons promote their own staff to the $25/h position of shift manager? ⚠️ Why do the Feltons refuse to hire NZ teens for any position. Let's be clear, there's no issue with a few Filipino or Indian staff, but when almost every single new hire is non-Kiwi, the Feltons need to front up. Are you seeing the same in your local Maccas? Drop your store below

🚩 Take the Feltons, for example. They own five Auckland McDonald's franchises. The Feltons import ALL their shift managers on the Accredited Employer Work Visa. Almost ALL their staff at all five are Filipino and Indian 🇵🇭 🇮🇳 . This is not a happenstance. They are cheap and obedient for their White masters (The Feltons). ⚽ Then they go and sponsor Western Springs AFC (football), after ruining this country, and actively removing opportunities from young New Zealanders looking for a part time job or trying to work their way up. Eff you.

"Immigration Minister Erica Stanford has said New Zealand will have to rely on migration because the country is not having enough children." So we are bringing thousands of Indians in to replace kiwi children, and have even more children, Perhaps if we made NZ a better place to live by reducing the cost of living, by improving infrastructure to sustain a bigger population, by encouraging kiwis to stay here instead of going to Australia, our birth rate would improve. The slipping birth rate is a terrible excuse for mass immigration. Even fewer people will want to live in a country filled with the third world. #nzpol "We are going to rely on migration.” centrist.nz/national-admit…

@bryce_edwards Importing "skilled" immigrants that work in low paying jobs does not enhance our economy. We do not attract the top tier professionals. We simply cannot compete.
