Delta CEO Ed Bastian on Monday defended their selection of Amazon's Leo over @Starlink, citing lower costs and additional technology offerings.
"Amazon brings a lot more than just satellite technology," Bastian told Bloomberg in an interview on Monday. "They bring great retailing capability and Amazon Prime and video gaming technologies, which Starlink does not have."
Bastian said the @Amazonleo service offers improved bandwidth at a much lower price point than Starlink. The comments came after Elon Musk criticized Delta’s choice on X last week.

"Now United Will Have Better Wifi For Years" Delta Airlines is not getting started with Amazon's Leo installations until 2028, and only equipping about half their fleet with the service. "They will remain behind the competition for a long time. And Amazon’s technology isn’t real yet, so we won’t know for some time how it actually compares."
