EX-RUSSIAN PILOT FACES $1.5M LAWSUIT AFTER 2023 URAL AIRLINES EMERGENCY FIELD LANDING Russian pilot Sergei Belov faces a 118.9 million ruble (~$1.5M) lawsuit for damage caused during a 2023 emergency field landing in the Novosibirsk region, according to court filings revealed on January 22. The claim covers damage to the right landing gear bay door, three fan blades of the right engine, six wheels, and four brakes, with costs based on repairs. Belov piloted Ural Airlines Flight U6-1383, an Airbus A320 that lost its Green hydraulic system en route from Sochi to Omsk. The crew diverted to Novosibirsk for its longer runway but failed to notice the landing gear could not retract, increasing drag and fuel consumption. With fuel critically low, the crew declared an emergency and landed in a field 185 km west of Novosibirsk. All passengers survived; the aircraft was later dismantled. A later-retracted investigation cited crew errors, miscalculated fuel planning, poor workload distribution, and inadequate fuel monitoring, while tracing the hydraulic failure to wear of a flexible hose. The case raises a key question for global aviation: Should pilots face personal financial liability for complex systemic failures, or are they now being blamed and sued for decisions made during in-flight emergencies? ✈️⚖️

Update on Technical Fault at IGI Airport, New Delhi NEW DELHI, November 7, 2025 - AAI at Indira Gandhi International Airport addressed a technical issue in the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS), which caused delays in processing flight plan messages. The issue was detected on November 6, 2025, in the IP-based AMSS system. Immediately, the review meeting was conducted by the Secretary, MoCA, with Chairman AAI, Member ANS, and other officials, and necessary directions were given to address the issues. The OEM was engaged, and additional staff were deployed to manually process Flight Plans for the Air Traffic Control system to ensure uninterrupted and safe air traffic operations immediately. A team of ECIL officials and AAI personnel is still on site. The AMSS systems are up and functional now. Due to some backlogs, there may be some delays in the normal functioning of automated operations, but the situation will be normal soon. We regret the inconvenience caused to airlines and passengers. @MoCA_GoI @PIB_India @MIB_India @mygovindia @RamMNK @mohol_murlidhar @vipinkumarIAS @DelhiAirport

”For want of a nail, the horse was lost.” A foreign CEO is appointed to lead a low-priority, loss-making airline — a decision made by the bean counters at the top of the Bye Bye group. The CEO, hailing from a low-cost carrier (LCC), sees this as a career opportunity — a chance to showcase the turnaround of a failing Full Service Carrier (FSC). Eager to prove results, the Chairman and board impose ambitious KPI benchmarks. With limited scope to grow revenue or improve margins in premium segments, the CEO focuses on aggressive cost-cutting to justify his compensation package. A heavy capex cycle only deepens the losses. Engineering quality deteriorates as experienced staff are replaced with cheaper, junior-level hires. The CTO, incentivised to reduce expenditure, cuts corners further. Non-critical maintenance is deferred through FY 2024–25 to save short-term costs. Soon, even the basics falter. Fleet maintenance issues — including recurrent toilet and water leakages — are patched temporarily and postponed for proper repair. Water leaks. Urine conducts electricity. Short circuit follows. Computers fail. Engines fail— on takeoff. The organisation eventually wakes up to the magnitude of the crisis — the damage to its global brand and to the larger “Bye Bye Group.” Leveraging its influence as a major political donor, the conglomerate pressures the government to steer public opinion and manage investigations. In the end, the pilot becomes the scapegoat — sacrificed to contain liability and protect the company’s image. That’s it. Bye Bye.

🚨 Smoking-Gun in the #AI171 prelim report. Was the Lever moved to the Down position post recovery? 🧭 Our macro shows a clean, wiped track inside the 787 gear-lever groove—after soot/mud. 🛠️ That pattern = possible post-recovery / in-situ lever movement. 📊 If Flaps 5° were verified by EAFR, why not landing gear too? 📁 Publish the black-box gear discretes now (lever / doors / uplocks / WOW). #AI171 #B787 #Transparency @MoCA_GoI @DGCAIndia #AAIB
