@Seth_3773 By rule… in the umpire’s judgment, where could the runner have gotten to without the obstruction. Looks like legit baserunning route to me

I don’t think this is a terrible running route. I think this is also a high in play by the #astros runner. The #whitesox shortstop has to be a bit more aware of the runner to me. What do you think?

Some parents just drove 3-5 hours to a travel ball tournament… and their son is struggling at the plate right now. Tell me what he’s struggling with as a hitter and I’ll try to help before his next game. I am a Former MLB player trying to help as many as I can for free.

@CoachSwit I umpire a lot of PG. Watched a coach pitch a guy for 4 innings and maxed out his “pitches” for the day. Rested him? No, put him in as catcher. Unbelievable

The problem with travel baseball now? Anybody can start a team. Get 12 kids, order uniforms, enter tournaments, call yourself “elite”… and suddenly you’re a travel organization. That doesn’t mean the development is good, arms are handled right, or kids are actually improving.

@BoSnerdley Because u have a handful of useful local idiots singing that song. Most Memphians have to deal with these crazies all the time. As a local it is truly embarrassing to be lumped in with these “intellectual “ folks”.

I keep seeing posts advocating for Memphis to secede from the state of Tennessee- but so far - I haven't seen advocates from any other state in the Union raise their hand and say welcome into our state. Why is that?

There's a huge baseball fan in Montreal, Guy Bourque, whose niche is collecting ticket stubs from #expos games. He just told me he has 2,000! He's also into collecting a lot of other items, as you can see in this photo.

@Seth_3773 I have umpired a lot and agree. Bad look and PU call completely. Same as with a ball hit off batters foot. If the base umpire sees it, call it then. Don’t wait to be asked.

Conversation with the home plate umpire tonight: Situation, I’m having my guy bunt with two strikes. I want him to get the bunt down he needs experience doing it. Misses the bunt, hits off the catchers glove, hits umpire, goes to backstop. Batter advances to first runner to second. Other coach challenges saying he foul tipped it. Home plate said no he didn’t, but goes to ask the other umpire who is next to second base anyway. Overturned, ump at second said he did tip it, he heard it. First off BS… no chance… just a call to get the out and move the game, I’m not arguing or asking him because it’s so crazy I’m just not going to deal with it. If you know you know. My issue is with home plate. Now, at no point am I arguing or yelling, it’s all just a conversation. I don’t embarrass him or anything. I tell him, you told me you had it, why even defer to the other umpire you’re right there. He goes “he asked me to ask him and I’m going to go with what he calls.” I go, you’re right there…just tell him I got the call. I then say very nicely, “hey man, I don’t know how long you have been doing this, but not everybody is gonna be as nice as me. In a close game or bigger game somebody’s gonna jump down your throat because you’re supposed to make this call, especially when you tell me you have it.” Again, very casual conversation…. But you have to make that call… you’re behind the plate you’re asking someone 100 feet away…

Simply say “it would be nice if they could put us up in a better hotel in Memphis than the Hyatt Centric. I don’t like going there for that reason alone.” But he didn’t say that did he?
