Israeli forces have intercepted around a dozen Gaza-bound aid boats from the Global Sumud Flotilla in international waters near the Greek island of Crete, more than 1,000km from Israel. Organisers call it an illegal attack on civilians in international waters.

@KStimmeGenozid Is Gaza a genocide?

The U.S. Amb. said at the UNSC that most countries, far more than the U.S., are paying for Iran's hostage-taking gambit in the Strait of Hormuz. He then adopted a self‑righteous look and argued that maritime transit routes are too important to the global community to be choked off; when they are, the entire world pays the price, he said. This theatre of crocodile tears is disingenuous: - The Strait of Hormuz functioned normally before the unprovoked and illegal war of aggression against Iran. - This was fundamentally altered when the aggressors transformed the Strait of Hormuz into a battlefield by attacking Iran. - Prior to initiating the war, they — in violation of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea — supplied weapons through the Strait to the region to build up their attack against Iran. - Iran, acting in legitimate self‑defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter, has since taken measures to ensure the Strait will not again be used against its security. Therefore, it was the Americans who took the Strait of Hormuz captive and weaponized it against a coastal state, with no regard for its wider consequences; and now by amplifying their erratic escalatory measures hold the world economy hostage. How can safe and free passage be restored while genuinely addressing Iran's security concerns? The only way is a guaranteed, permanent end to the war of aggression.
