@mbeaver6

I’ve decided I should be on the pardon list if that’s still in the works.

The first school in college football history to win 16 games in a season: the 2025 Indiana Hoosiers. What a season.

You absolutely have to hold near second and give George Springer a chance at the plate there.

Tata is already a legendary figure in his own right, but having the cajones to step into this messy situation to try to sort it out would be another level. Maybe he feels like he owes it to Miguel Almiron to commit to *him* this time, as previously it was the other way around.

Sources: Tata Martino has emerged as the clear frontrunner to be Atlanta United's next head coach. Club still interviewing candidates but clear feeling is Martino likely. w/ @PaulTenorio @FelipeCar nytimes.com/athletic/67544…

@andrewklavan The typical claim is that because there is something rather than nothing, there must be an entity that is self-existent, not reliant on anything else for its existence. Asking “who created the Creator?” or invoking “turtles all the way down” doesn’t engage with that claim.

I understand the logic of this. But it seems to me inherently different to say, with the religious, that consciousness is the original state of existence than to say, with the atheists, that matter is the original state of existence. Everything material has a material cause, but consciousness seems simply to be. Matter instantiates consciousness as words instantiate meaning, but the consciousness, like the meaning, is already there. (You can see my interview with @charlesmurray on Wednesday. Just finished reading his moving new book on faith.)
Charles Murray@charlesmurray

As far as I can tell, every physics-based cosmological explanation of the universe boils down to "Grant me an initial miracle, and I'll explain everything after that." It is also true that invoking god as the explanation intrinsically forces one into the "it's turtles all the way down" problem.

@DougRobersonAJC Doug, again, I’m not sure why this bothers you so much. You didn’t make the decision to bench Josef in his last game in Atlanta (as far as I know) and many people are rightfully upset with those who *did* make that decision. Why do you take personal affront to that?

This is funny for two reasons. 1. It accidentally admits that Arnold scored (otherwise it would be a 99-yard touchdown). 2. Only Georgia fans are so spoiled that they get the luckiest break imaginable and they’re still upset because it wasn’t even luckier.

@jontweetssports Sure, even given all that have you ever seen a coach call timeout, then argue with the refs that they missed a call, and then the refs give him his timeout back but still don’t make the call he was asking for?? Just cause the TV crew got it wrong doesn’t make it make sense.

I rewatched the Kirby timeout sequence. Kirby calls timeout. Then tells the ref that Auburn was clapping. “They can’t clap! They can’t clap!” Points to Auburn: “They’re clapping!” Ref weirdly overturns the timeout call. Broadcast assumes Kirby said he didn’t call timeout.
Jon Tweets Sports@jontweetssports

Kirby was clearly calling for a timeout. Gotta charge that timeout. SEC Officiating’s gotta overrule that.

I mean, Arnold clearly broke the plane with the football. I don’t know if they need bigger TVs for instant replay or what. All he needs to do is touch the line with control of the ball. He did that.
Mike Maher@mikeMaher

@ClayTravis Clear fumble. It gets punched out right as he is crossing the line. The ball starts to move immediately.
