I am paid a very high salary to design new ways to hurt innocent people. Please don't hurt me. I want to live. My job is to hurt your children. Please, don't do anything to me. I want to be safe. My job is to make your family sick. I want to live. Please, I deserve to live. Pleas

idk but i've had a huge culture shock going from nyc to basically anywhere else, other than downtowns of cosmopolitan capitals where people speak a shared urban language (outside the u.s.). i took nyc for granted until i left. ny is not like elsewhere. elsewhere is not like it.
#3 sisterwife but #1 in his heart@prettycritical

people in nyc always act like i had such a big culture shock coming to new york because i grew up in ohio. you would think cars fly here lmao. like it is a city of people who go to school and work. i think i’ve seen that before.

In 2025, I spent $1,962 on public transit, Citi Bike, and rideshare. With AAA estimating the annual cost of car ownership at $11,577, that means I saved $9,615 by living in a walkable city with great transit. Car dependency is expensive.

All of Bangladesh’s fertiliser plants are fully shut — in a country of more than 170 million people to feed.

This image from the @FT shows how the war in Iran could have dramatic effects on global food security. Without natural gas, ammonia and urea—key nitrogen fertilizers—cannot be produced. Without them, crop yields collapse.

I’m still getting death threats, if anything they’ve increased. Zionists are still not afraid of publicly saying they are going to kill me. The problem isn’t just one guy, it’s this whole rotten culture of impunity they’ve enjoyed for far too long.

It’s been a consistent pattern for well over a decade. Decisions get framed as “strategy” or “pragmatism,” dissenters get dismissed as naive, reckless, or even “anarchists,” and then when the outcomes don’t match the confident predictions, there’s rarely any real reckoning. The people who pushed back aren’t acknowledged, the assumptions behind the original position aren’t revisited, and the conversation simply moves on as if nothing happened.

Hamza Yusuf in the quiet of the night resigned from the Religious Liberty Commission, which was thoroughly exposed by @CarriePrejean1 to be nothing but a Zio organization. Once again the plebs were right and the Madkhali Quietists got it wrong. But now that the ship is burning, it’s not that much of a selfless act.

Quran[.]com removes Mishary Alafasy as the default reciter across the site. This is an important step as Quran shouldn't be associated with someone who provides religious cover for tyrants & oppressors. Our digital spaces must reflect values of Islam, not treacherous politics.

I really don't understand how can some mosques in the US remain silent on Iran and not even make Duas for it while it faces an existential threat by the same government we pay taxes to. How could the Khateeb make Duas for the whole Ummah, naming specific countries except Iran during this American and Israeli aggression? Even if you hold deep wounds regarding Syria because of Iranian leadership, what about the Iranian people? Aren't they Muslims and part of the Ummah? They don't deserve for us to remember them with our Duas? At a moment when the US and Israel unleash a ghoulish war against our Ummah to subjugate it, how can we not even do the bare minimum of remembering the victims of the war? Isn't that silence indirectly aiding the oppressors of the Ummah? If the US and Israel break Iran, the whole Ummah will be exploited regardless of their position on Iran or Syria. This is a moment to put our differences and wounds, no matter how deep, to the side and prioritize our survival against this aggression that won't leave any of us safe.
