@WSJ Parents start there kids as early as possible to save money on day care, then hold them back. This is an additional cost on tax payers.

California state government spends $12,556 per person. New York $11,742. Illinois $9,893. Meanwhile Texas spends just $4,849 per person. Florida $5,056. Georgia $5,563. What are blue state tax payers getting with this spending? Better services? Better roads? Better schools?

@mblei42 @BobGreenburg The privates still can recruit. So no matter if they are 1A or 6A based on your suggestions, they have an advantage. They recruit good players. If they are competing against public schools it isn’t equal. We need to separate public vs private or boundary vs non boundary.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: PIAA 6A state champion Central Dauphin, a public school, got a big time transfer this year…so are they considered a boundary or non-boundary school?

@HansonCoach @BobGreenburg Problem solved for public schools. All the private would be bumped up to based on the new enrollment criteria i mentioned.

@mblei42 @BobGreenburg Problem solved for who??? I never get the argument or point to move schools up in classification. So the public 6A schools can play the powerhouse 4 or 5A schools who recruit all start rosters? Doesn’t make any sense at all

@ETNreisenweber Participation is down 25% in girls basketball since 2001. That might be a big reason. Also, you could end the season a little earlier, and shave off some play in district games as well.

PIAA girls basketball championship attendance 1A: 865 2A: 560 3A: 755 4A: 305 5A: 515 6A: 1,025 Total: 4,025 (671 per game) I know everyone will debate public-private and boundary-non-boundary but we have to get these games into Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and out of Hershey.

@JoeBergstrom @Jeff_Ermann I’ve reduced my viewership by about 50% the past 2 years. Many others have too. Not only do you not know the players on your own team, rivals don’t have villains anymore.

@Jeff_Ermann Then dont watch…. This is a lazy dumb take. If Maryland is in you don’t even write this. Cinderella winning has always been a long shot. Nova 85 (8th seed) is still the lowest to ever win it. In 40 years 37 champions have been seeds 1-4

With High Point out, the only chance for a non-power conference team to make the Sweet Sixteen is Utah State. Which has to beat Zona to get there. It's not a fluke. The Sweet 16 was 16 power conference teams last year. Still love the tourney, but it's losing a lot of its charm.

@IainMacBets The NBA is really the lone outlier here as it’s become borderline unwatchable. Meanwhile, college sports and the NFL? Absolute peak cinema. No debate there.

@vws1958 @ukbear03 @fgrhoops It makes play defense a lot easier. Scoring has been down in most states. Most teams will go to a soft press then into a zone, move to man and force the ball into the hands of the 4th or best scorer. Resulting in bad shots.

@ukbear03 @fgrhoops It’s not real/modern basketball w/o a shot clock. It also is better for good defense.

If 61% of Athletic Director’s don’t want a shot clock then I bet 61% of AD’s don’t schedule Saturday home games, won’t host district/regionals and secretly want their teams to lose in the playoffs so they don’t have to go to another road game

@domf_says @yc That’s crazy, why wouldn’t the parent just give them the money so they can get a free lunch. Seems like common sense. Do we really need a law forcing parents to give there kids money so they can eat for free.

Big media take: the only reason broadcast TV networks still exist is the NFL. Go look at ratings, if the NFL isn’t on NBC, CBS and Fox, what are people watching on these channels? Bigger media take: sports is the only reason cable TV still exists. Am I wrong? Debate, discuss.

TWEEPS: The SAVE Act requires passports and birth certificates just to vote. Those cost money. When politicians make you pay money to exercise a constitutional right, that’s a poll tax. I need 1,000 fast RTs and replies using #SaveActIsPayToVote Please and thank you! 🙏💪
