The attempted murder of high school sports by the rich and ruthless continues. Last week, Sewickley Academy won a PIAA title with recruited athletes, not from another school district but another CONTINENT. Shame on the school and the state for allowing this. 1/2 #Pirates

@mblei42 @BobGreenburg The privates still can recruit. So no matter if they are 1A or 6A based on your suggestions, they have an advantage. They recruit good players. If they are competing against public schools it isn’t equal. We need to separate public vs private or boundary vs non boundary.

@HansonCoach @BobGreenburg Problem solved for public schools. All the private would be bumped up to based on the new enrollment criteria i mentioned.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: PIAA 6A state champion Central Dauphin, a public school, got a big time transfer this year…so are they considered a boundary or non-boundary school?

@mblei42 @BobGreenburg Problem solved for who??? I never get the argument or point to move schools up in classification. So the public 6A schools can play the powerhouse 4 or 5A schools who recruit all start rosters? Doesn’t make any sense at all

@BobGreenburg They don’t need to separate public vs private, they just need to change how they count. A private school needs to count all students from the geographical area they get students from. Public schools also count all students even if they don’t attend the school. Problem solved.

@handsometuesda9 1000% illegal. You would want that call if the hands overlap on top or if the hands touch on a full Nelson. It is the same principle. Doesn’t matter it it was a second or not it is illegal. Good call

@WrestlingQuoter Correct Same if the hands just touch on a full Nelson. When it’s there it’s there.

@zach_seyko If he chose to actually attack and take valid shots he would have gotten more stall calls. Didn’t do enough.

"Today everybody wants to talk about their rights and their privileges. 50 years ago, people talked about their obligation and responsibility. You have obligations to other people. If you want to fail, you have the right to fail. You do not have the right to cause other people to fail because you do not do everything to the very best of your ability."

BOYS 6A SUBREGIONAL FINAL — 8:00PM 🎙️ #3 Delaware Valley (16-8) vs. #1 Wilkes-Barre Area (14-9) 📍 Mohegan Arena 🕗 8:00 PM 🎧 Listen Live: NEPAHoops.com @DV_Athletics defeated No. 6 West Scranton (50-39) in the quarterfinals and then made the three-hour road trip to knock off No. 2 Williamsport, 73-47, in the semifinals — one of the most impressive wins of the tournament. The Warriors have now won six straight and are playing in their first championship game at Mohegan Arena. Delaware Valley’s only District 2 title came in 2012 (Class 4A). Now, as the 3-seed, they’re back on this stage with grit and momentum. Head coach Kris Holzter (@kholtzer11) has steadily built this program into one of the most respected in the area. Beyond the high school level, Holzter works nationally with @usabasketball, training and traveling with elite players across the country — experience that has helped elevate the Warriors’ culture and development. Trey Newton (@Trey_Newton3) — a nationally recognized football talent with @USAFootball experience — brings toughness on both grids, while senior Tyler Lombardo (@TylerLombardo21) anchors the leadership core. Colin McGarvey (@colin_mcgarvey) and Sam Wood continue to provide balance and physicality. @WBAPackBball earned a quarterfinal bye and defeated No. 4 Hazleton Area, 52-47, in the semifinals. The Wolfpack won the District 2 Class 6A championship in 2020 following the merger of GAR, Meyers, and Coughlin into one unified program. Under Jim Levan (@Jlavan12), now in his fourth season leading the program, they return with senior David Jannuzzi (@jannuzzidavid2) at the forefront, alongside seniors Mike Keating, Cam Shovlin, and junior brothers Robert and Achilles Fuentes. This has arguably been the strongest Class 6A tournament to date — featuring Delaware Valley, @WBAWolfpackAD, West Scranton, Hazleton Area, and subregional opponent Williamsport. It was a down year for defending five-time champion Scranton, which graduated four of five starters from last season. Two new teams on this stage tonight. A fresh chapter in 6A history. 🎙️ On the Call: Scott Mackinder (@Scott_Mackinder) Chris Kucharski (@Chris_Kucharski) 📊 Full live stats + built-in scoreboard display available inside the audio stream. Alysa Liu & Eileen Gu were both offered millions to represent China at the Olympics, even though both were born & raised in America. Liu’s family said no to communist money because they believe in democracy, Gu took the money & repped China. Thanks, Alysa:
