Fair play to City tonight, good effort.
The tie is a lesson from the 2016-2019 years that a) you can’t let ties get away from you in a matter of minutes and b) the Champions League is about moments.
Better to relearn those lessons in a season we were unlikely to win it.
We were good after Cherki came on and were unlucky not to win, which begs the question why didn’t he set us up like that from the start?
Type of performance and result that is acceptable in September but very frustrating in the run-in.
@chblackcat Bad calls:
- Moving O’Reilly’s legs out of midfield to left back where he’s struggling
- Benching both in-form full backs
- Playing Savinho
Embarrassing result and pathetic second half performance.
Spurs were quite literally begging to get beat and had totally checked out at half time.
Inexcusable not to win that.
Took the little man to bed after Rodri got sent off. Had seen enough.
Feels very 24/25 season where every attack is limp followed by looking like we’re going to concede every counter attack.
Worryingly, I don’t think it can be oversimplified to a patchwork defence.
