@Heccles94 Dear X, This Eccles character is, of course, engagement farming. He's almost certainly monetising his constant stream of drivel. It's been fun but it's time for me to block. I'd advise others to do the same.

i’ve been off this platform for eighteen months until this week and the strange thing that’s hitting me is how the terfs are literally just rehearsing the same lines as they were when i first started using Twitter in 2018 or so. is there a shelf life on “can a woman have a penis”

@ThePosieParker I've bumped into fellow GCs who fell for it. Who thought their worst fears were confirmed: the police were - through stupidity or worse - adding 'paedo' to the acronym of protected identities. She's still hawking this abject untruth:

@ThePosieParker The police did not visit you because you were 'untoward to paedos'. This is a lie. In your own video you say 'To be fair, he probably got his words wrong'. What actually happened was he tried to say something like 'Don't imply X supports paedos' but it came out wrong. Stop lying

The United Kingdom is in a sinister, censorious state. I was invited to an interview with the police for the first time in 2017 for saying it’s wrong to castrate a 16 year old. Over the last few years, I’ve had a visit from the police for being “untoward about paedophiles”, been arrested for organising an outdoor political gathering during lockdown, and made a couple more trips to the police station for my speech. My primary role in life is that of a mother; I see this country through the lens of what we leave for our children. Yesterday, whilst in a taxi after listening to the extraordinary Noa Argamani speak, I saw an email from my son’s college. (In the UK, college/sixth form is compulsory for 16–18-year-olds.) The email was a sinister and viciously authoritarian punishment for wrongthink and speech. Had my son said women have penises and should be able to share rape crisis centres with other women, he would have been fine. He would not have been accused of being ideologically abhorrent (in writing) and given a permanent record to take with him into university or an apprenticeship. We, the adults, have created this environment for our children, and it is incumbent upon us to fight to stop it. These battles are high risk for our children; speaking freely can cost them friendships and opportunities. You must ensure your child is not suffering the harms of our societal neglect. There will be consequences for adults who think they can bully my son. Maybe they haven’t heard, but, especially when it comes to my children … I never lose.

@oncloud_e 'Obviously going for'. Have you seen man trans-identified males? How should we treat Alex? He calls himself a woman - is it obvious that's what he's attempting?

@TorenTYlfa @helenstaniland There are thousands of experiments in psychology (on perception/memory) which prove our 'truths' about our internal states don't always match reality. A man may well believe he is a woman ('true') It doesn't follow he is a woman, or that he should be treated as one.

Self‑ID isn’t a special rule for trans people @helenstaniland it’s just the basic principle that people are the primary source of truth about their own identity. When someone says they’re trans, they’re describing an internal experience only they can know. That’s not the same as making an external claim like “a billionaire is paying me,” which is something that can be verified or disproven. And the part that always gets missed: everyone already self-identifies. C1s people say “I’m a woman” or “I’m a man” without presenting chromosomes, medical records, or childhood documentation. We accept people’s identities in every other area of life religion, sexuality, culture, neuro divergence, names, pronouns, boundaries because the person living that experience is the one who knows it. Self‑ID simply applies that same standard to gender. It doesn’t erase biology, it doesn’t remove safeguards, and it doesn’t override material reality. It just recognises that gender identity isn’t something strangers can diagnose from the outside. Trans people aren’t asking for special treatment. They’re asking for the same recognition c1s people already receive without question. But of course I'm expecting you to still have a problem with this.
Helen Staniland@helenstaniland

@theklutzydom Have you not heard about self-id? If a person tells you they're trans, do you not necessarily believe them? If you say that billionaires are giving me money, you need to show your evidence.

@Wakethefitup I didn't agree with much Corbyn said but recognised him as a sincere politician. I don't think Zack believes a single word that comes out of his mouth. He's as much in politics for public service as Trump is. Even if u agree with his script, do you really believe he's 'genuine'?

@Aja1764741Aja @joshxhowie Imagine a lady brain exists (of course it doesn't). Imagine it ends up in a body which is 6" 4', has a hairy chest, a penis, a prostate and produces 100s ofmillions of sperm a day. What is this person? It's quite simple: he's a man.

@joshxhowie Trans women are women. To be treated equally. Men and women have an expectation that they'll be gendered correctly. Trans people should expect that too. Trans women were born with some male parts but fundamentally they are female. That is what their brain

I seem to be having a fun few days of public confrontation which no doubt someone will accuse me of making up. But in cafe two young women decked out in rainbows and dyed hair stood up to leave and informed me they overheard my conversation and LGB Alliance are a transphobic organisation. I asked why she thinks that? She said they’re trying to take away trans rights. I asked her to name an example of just one trans right they were taking away. And they both blustered and I asked again and they stormed off. I might stay at home for a few days.

@ThePosieParker @GSpellchecker You really have to look at the 'point' of the joke. It wasn't Jews are too rich, or mean, or control the world. It was the bathos of the term 'post-it'. That's really it. That's the joke.

@jo_bartosch @RichardDawkins For girls/young women it's the latest iteration of whatever drove anorexia/bulemia/self-harming. I don't think pornography is a factor for them.

This social contagion memidemic has run its course and will soon fade into history. Except, unlike other playground crazes (yo-yos, jacks, hula-hoops, marbles) this one will never fade for those unfortunate children irreversibly damaged by chemical or even surgical mutilation skeptic.com/article/transg…

@AlessandraAster @Averyflash Ever noticed how trans (for women) maps perfectly to anorexia and bulemia. Young women taking out their psychological distress on their bodies. Stopping the process of puberty. Encouragment from peers. Trans is just the latest iteration of whatever drove these other contagions.

@oliviakrolczyk_ Do you believe there is such a thing as a heterosexual child? Is your belief that children don't have any sexual interest until their 18th birthday? Or that it's only homosexual children that don't exist?
