@KLM 2 more calls, get someone to book me on flight to AMS later on day of original return, and on @AerLingus to Cork this morning. Ask about hotel n AMS, told to request from personnel at Schiphol on arrival: arrive in AMS around midnight and, predictably, no staff on duty.

A tale of two airlines. Rescheduling flights due to bereavement. @AerLingus 1 call: resolved efficiently & compassionately. @KLM_EIR 1.5 hrs on phone so far, multiple emails, still not resolved: waiting for another email, then call again to confirm and pay additional charges.

@AerLingus @KLM_EIR And then a load of scammers here, imitating the airlines, try to get me to share information!

@AerLingus couldn’t do any better; @KLM_EIR couldn’t do much worse.

@a_webb @secrettory12 There is no huge influx. We take far fewer refugees than other major European countries. This is just an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s, and I’m out of order?
