Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users. ALL ROAD USERS. And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s safer to NOT have them. Via @StreetsblogUSA usa.streetsblog.org/2019/05/29/pro…

@NYAMCunningham I just left you a message. Let’s engage in civic discourse. There’s never a good time for change, congestion pricing will be transformative to both reduce vehicle traffic while making much needed investment in mass transit which benefit the vast majority of your constituents.

I appreciate all of the opinions, passion and discourse from advocates, constituents and others but we must keep the conversation respectful especially to staffers. Please feel free to reach out to express your views and opinions on this matter. I look forward to hearing directly from my constituents and colleagues to find an equitable solution for everyone.

@NYAMCunningham Disagree. Need fewer cars so buses can run. Ride the bus at 5a and then ride bus at 9a. It’s the cars that are the problem.

After listening to concerns from residents, Governor Hochul's decision to pause congestion pricing is the right one. While congestion pricing helps tackle reducing emissions related to overcrowding and the climate crisis, we still need to address how congestion pricing will affect our most vulnerable and outerborough communities. The reality is our residents are struggling to overcome the challenges of inflation while utilizing a transportation system that needs serious infrastructure improvements. Our goal has always been to get this program right, and as of now I don't believe we have done that. I look forward to working with Governor Hochul and my colleagues in the legislature to get it done so we all can

@LauraGMitchell Fascinating. I would be much more comfortable walking to meet someone at park than letting someone I barely met drive my child around.

My 5yo has a new friend at school & asked me to set up a play date. I was texting with the parent & when we got to logistics the parent asked if I could pick the kid up. They live 4 blocks (under .5 mile) away & I said we’d be happy to walk over. The parent shared 1/6

I'm not surprised that things didn't go according plan when virtually no effort went to preparing to launch the plan by thousands of faculty to millions of students? So many different levels here...such a disconnect b/w administrators, faculty and students/parents.

School's out! Just as NYC DOE remote issues are being fixed, some principals are ending instruction at noon. "I know everyone must be exhausted," this Queens principal notified teachers, parents and students. Cutting class early will give kids a chance to "PLAY OUTSIDE."

Friday's Weather Rating: 4/10 Cold this morning, with overnight lows in the 20s. Daytime highs will only reach the upper 30s today - grab that winter jacket - but we do have lots of sunshine to go around. The vibes are chilly out there!!

Wednesday's Weather Rating: 5/10 Sunshine returns to greet us for another day. High temperatures only reach the lower 40s thanks to the return of a consistent northwest breeze. It's not terrible out there, but grab that winter jacket. The vibes are alright!!

Grand central Madison: boy is it deep. Forget to buy ticket, had to go all the way back up and come back down. There is so much space and so few people. Why can’t we buy tickets on the train or on the platform?
