#MarchandMarch Update:
Nkosikhona Ndabandaba, also known as Phakel’umthakathi, has called for existing Black political parties in South Africa to disband, arguing they have failed to advance Black interests and should be replaced by a new political movement focused on representation and economic empowerment.
He claims South Africa possesses sufficient national wealth to provide every citizen with an annual income of R1 million. According to him, this is not being implemented because current political parties are allegedly influenced or constrained by foreign financial interests and capital dependence.

PRESS STATEMENT
XENOPHOBIC ATTACK: PROTECT NIGERIAN CITIZENS, END STIGMATIZATION, NIDCOM URGES SOUTH AFRICA GOVT
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission has called on the South African government to protect Nigerians and black immigrants in South Africa, expressing deep concern over the worsening persecution of black immigrants, in parts of South Africa.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman/ CEO of the commission, Hon. Abike Dabiri- Erewa.
“ While many expected a de-escalation of tensions following earlier engagements between both governments, the situation on the ground is deteriorating”, she noted.
Reports reaching the Commission indicate that pupils of Nigerian descent are now scared to attend school. Genuine business owners are afraid to open their shops for fear of targeted attacks, looting, and harassment. Community leaders have documented fresh incidents of violence and intimidation in the last 72 hours.
NIDCOM appeals to the Government of the Republic of South Africa to take urgent and visible steps to protect all foreign nationals within its borders, as required under international law and African Union protocols on free movement and human rights.
We state clearly that NIDCOM rejects the profiling and generalisation of all Nigerians. Crime has no nationality. Any individual, regardless of origin, who commits an offence should be investigated and made to face the full penalty of South African law.
However, collective punishment and blanket labeling of an entire nationality are unacceptable and dangerous.
NIDCOM therefore demands:
Immediate Security: Increased police presence and patrols in flashpoint communities where Nigerians reside and trade.
Accountability: Prompt arrest and prosecution of persons involved in xenophobic attacks, arson, and extortion.
Dialogue: A joint Nigeria-South Africa community safety forum with police, city officials, and diaspora leaders.
Non-Discrimination: Clear public messaging from South African authorities that condemns xenophobia and warns against stereotyping.
We urge all Nigerians in South Africa to remain law-abiding, avoid high-risk areas after dark.
We are in direct contact with the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria and the Consulate in Johannesburg as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
NIDCOM commends the majority of South Africans who continue to live peacefully with their African brothers and sisters. We believe in the historical ties that bind both nations and call for calm, restraint, and respect for human life.
Nigeria will continue to work diplomatically with South Africa to ensure the safety, dignity, and rights of our citizens abroad.
Signed
Hon. (Dr) Abike Dabiri-Erewa

@ellLasagna @Affluence839554 @Nurapost 1,000,000 Naira provides higher, more affordable consumption in Nigeria.
Cost of Living Comparison: Evidence indicates that ₦50,000 (roughly 400-600 GHS depending on current rates) can purchase more goods in Nigeria than its direct equivalent in Cedis can buy in Ghana.
English

@ellLasagna @Affluence839554 @Nurapost Based on domestic cost of living, the Nigerian Naira generally offers higher purchasing power within its local economy compared to the Ghanaian Cedi. While the Cedi has a higher exchange rate value, the cost of food, goods, and services is significantly higher in Ghana
English

@AfricaFactsZone This is what Nigerians have been telling Ghanaians since but they don't want to understand this is not about removing four zeros from currency this actually show you how powerful your currency is in terms of buying power

@Optimistic_Ade Is how you compared 200 to 25,000 naira. The way you guys think is funny. Why not compare 200 cedis with 200 naira
English

This 200 cedis can't get you a room in any hotel in Accra. N25,000 can get a hotel in Lagos.
Noorie@Nurapost
This is ₦25000 in naira 😭😭😭
English

On the flip side, while I am not holding brief for our government and their performance with regards to the economy.
I can tell you that Ghana isn’t even in the conversation, bro.
The Naira is far stronger than the redenominated Cedi.
Take their 50-cedi note....that’s actually the equivalent of 500,000 old cedis.
Here’s the reality: when a currency is redenominated, its external purchasing power stays exactly the same. So 10,000 units of the old currency simply become 1 unit of the new one.
That’s exactly what happened with the Ghanaian cedi in 2007... one new cedi was set equal to 10,000 old cedis.
Which is why a 2-litre Coke costs around 23 cedis in Ghana right now. At today’s exchange rate, that works out to roughly N2,840 (or thereabouts.
Meanwhile, you know how much you buy the same 2-litre bottle in Lagos.
Let's criticize these people with superior arguments please. When we don't, we shoot ourselves in the leg.
Noorie@Nurapost
This is ₦25000 in naira 😭😭😭
English

@ellLasagna @Affluence839554 @Nurapost You're the illiterate, that's why the purchasing power of the naira is higher. It gives it a fake value
English

@Affluence839554 @Nurapost Redenomination doesn't change a currency's value. Make use of your internet, your level of illiteracy is concerning.
