Congress will never cut off the spending spigot unless We the People force them to rein it in. That’s why I have been urging state legislators around the country to back efforts to adopt a U.S. constitutional amendment to require a balanced federal budget, like Florida has done.   As of today, 28 states have passed convention applications for a balanced budget amendment. We need six more for an Article V Convention. Today in Boise, I asked lawmakers to make Idaho the next state to join the effort for a federal Balanced Budget Amendment.   Let’s get it done!

16 years ago today, the Supreme Court erased the limit on how much the wealthy and big corporations could pump into elections. Since Citizens United, we've seen billions of dollars of dark money drowning out the voice of American voters. I introduced a Constitutional amendment to overturn this decision and put political power where it belongs: with the American people.
