I see a lot of debates on tech twitter around length of work weeks, ability to take vacation, and work/life balance. I can definitively say that I’ll never regret putting my career on pause to be with my mom. Family comes first and people will understand. 5/

Last September, I walked away from my day-to-day role at @BirdRide to spend more time with my mom. She had been diagnosed with late stage lung cancer and I wanted to be in Chicago with her and her grandkids as much as possible. 1/
