For my entry into the @thebeaksart Contest, I wanted the artwork to tell a story rather than simply exist as a visual piece. I titled it “Teenage Dima Drawing a Beak Mural in Minsk.”
The concept draws inspiration from @DKashtalyan introductory video, where he spoke about beginning his graffiti journey as a teenager in the streets of Minsk, painting murals on city walls and gradually developing his distinctive pointillism style. With over 20 years of experience in street painting, Dima’s journey represents years of dedication, experimentation, and artistic evolution. I sought to recreate that origin story through this sketch, imagining a young Dima standing before a wall, carefully bringing a Beak character to life dot by dot.
The entire artwork was executed in black-and-white pointillism to mirror the signature artistic language that defines Dima’s work. Every dot represents patience, growth, and the early foundation of an artist whose creativity would eventually transcend the streets.
Most importantly, the piece embodies the collection’s slogan: “From the walls to the markets.”
What once began as graffiti on forgotten city walls has now evolved into digital collectibles appreciated across global markets and communities. The sketch therefore represents transformation from street murals to globally recognized digital art.
Through this piece, I wanted to honor not only the Beaks collection itself, but also the journey, vision, and roots behind its creation.
I hope team likes it, time lapse are in the comment section.
