12: Practical Tips: The best way to stop mindlessly doom scrolling on social media is to have an insanely interesting book on your phone. 📚 As @janegrismer suggests, carrying a physical book can also help. Or, as @Shawnquennevil4 points out, set up your feeds to follow people you can learn from. #Reading #MindfulLiving

Doom scrolling in Gen Z is my identified problem. I catch myself doom scrolling more often than I'd like to admit, and my mood would be messed up after, so I read a little about it. I found this article insightful pro.morningconsult.com/analysis/dooms…

The problem is not people being uneducated. The problem is that people are educated just enough to believe what they have been taught, and not educated enough to question anything from what they have been taught. 🧠

You are not qualified to be a teacher because you were once a student. Teaching is an art and a science. It is an actual profession.

Reflection from the 1st module of lessons in EM203 1) Understanding how revolutionary the internet was to learning, also how new ways of digesting content came about. Taking into account that although we have more access to the internet now, we are less creative. #EM203Robin

@wlu_nathanael I like how detailed your posts are! I’ve been reflecting on that too,it’s amazing how much access we have to information now, it can sometimes feel overwhelming. I wonder if all the instant content makes us rely more on what's available rather than on our own creativity as much

@EM203Landon EM203 has been such an engaging class so far! I found the discussions on learning in the digital age super insightful too. We also had cognitivism, and it was great, it really made me reflect on how we process and retain information in today’s fast-paced digital environment!

So far I am really enjoying EM203, and each lesson offers insight into our first module's theme, which is "How do we learn in a digital age?". My favourite lesson was week 2, when my group discussed cognitivism, which is, transferring information to knowledge. #EM203Robin

@em203sLepri I felt the same way about X (Twitter)! I was surprised at how much educational content is actually shared here. It’s interesting how this class is pushing us all to try things outside our usual habits, I’ve been using Instagram a lot but exploring other platforms has been great!

The first 3 classes in EM203 have been interesting, different and a new experience with learning. This class is really encouraging me to try new things out of my norm such as using X and creating comics on Pixton, which are both things I would have never done before! #EM203Robin

@FatimaRizwanWLU I'm so glad you're enjoying EM203! I feel the same way, it's such an eye-opener, and I love how engaging it is. I just need to stay on top of the readings because I tend to slack there :-))), but I’m excited for what’s next!"

@EM203Kmurray Electronics being banned in classrooms reminds me of myself in school and I always thought of it positively. It allowed me to interact with my friends a lot more than if I had my phone with me in school :))) Research would be done at home only!

The second lesson in EM203 was a little difficult because of the amount of reading that I had to do. However, I liked the concept of open textbooks; it makes education more accessible. #em203robin
