At the launch of new funding by @UKinZimbabwe #UNFPA presented preliminary findings on the economic cost of gender-based violence, highlighting the profound financial and social losses borne by individuals, families, communities, and the national economy. The estimated cost for #GBV in Zimbabwe is 3.87% of the GDP which translates into to $1.36 Billion United States Dollars annually. Saving lives. Restoring dignity. Strengthening systems. In 2025, UNFPA Zimbabwe made major strides in improving maternal health and advancing clinical innovation: 🔹 Scaled up the e-MOTIVE protocol, reducing deaths from postpartum haemorrhage. 🔹 Trained 786 health workers in advanced obstetric and neonatal care. 🔹 Digitised midwifery education across 23 national schools. 🔹 Restored hope for 120 women through life-changing fistula repair surgeries.
