Why should only salaried class carry Pak’s tax burden while entire high cash sectors remain under taxed? Private hospitals, Jewellers, bus transporters, Lawyers, wedding halls, private schools etc should all come into the net. Mandatory Card Payments.

Pakistan Railways with the blessings of Allah has generated a historic freight revenue of Rs 183.53 million in one day.
A remarkable achievement in its nearly 78-year history, and for the first time ever, freight earnings have surpassed passenger earnings.
InshaAllah, the next target is to cross Rs 200 million in freight earnings before 30th June 2026.

@rogueonomist For VPS, do you get tax credit for additional amount invested each year or on the total balance amount that is invested? (I.e. if someone invests in a VPS just once lumpsum, can they claim a tax credit on it indefinitely?)

- Open a VPS account. Keep allocation at 100% equity, and grow wealth tax free. Get tax credit on salary. Contribute every month
- Avoid direct investment in PSX, unless ETFs. You will not be able to handle volatility, and information asymmetry
- Keep a Savings Account -- if a bank says it cannot be done, push harder
- Keep surplus cash in a Money market fund
- Do not buy a plot. High chance you will lose it all
- Do not invest in apartment project. High chance it will be stranded, and you will lose it all
- Target buying an average of 1 gram of physical gold every month (you can buy every quarter or whatever) -- regardless of price. Do not buy silver, or copper, etc. - unless you manufacture fans for a living
- Max out any available government housing scheme loans; this is the only property you should buy
- Keep renting; this is the most economically efficient decision
- Do not buy anything offered by bancassurance or that says life insurance savings plan. Run for the exit. Block their numbers.
- Do not invest with family.

I am not a stock market expert, and this is not my area of expertise, so I am not trying to object to any advice. However, in my opinion, if you can afford it, you should own your own house. The sense of peace and stability that comes with homeownership is quite different and difficult to measure in purely financial terms. Not everything in life needs to be evaluated through a strict cost-benefit lens, especially when we consider the limited time we have in this world. Of course, others may disagree, and that is perfectly valid.

Installed water coolers at locations on Sh e Faisal, Karachi from Faisal Sweets to TRG.
Filled at Cantt station filtration plant. Need to add more coolers & need funds. (7k per day for filling water/ice/suzuki) plus cooler cost.

Indirect taxes apply to everyone, but direct taxes are mainly paid by salaried individuals, and they are already struggling to manage their finances. Now consider this: when petrol was around Rs. 260 (before the recent global tensions), it has now reached around Rs. 415. An average salaried person living in a big city, using a vehicle for daily commuting and consuming around 4 litres of fuel per day, is now facing an increase of more than Rs. 15,000 per month in fuel expenses (forget the impact of increase in fuel prices on other items). It is becoming very difficult to survive under such conditions. We can only pray for ease from Allah, as there is very little expectation from the government.
