You deserve to enjoy life and put yourself first. It’s unfair to the people who care about you when you don’t take care of yourself. Maybe you’re tired, a mess, or broke... but that’s exactly why you owe yourself better.

Getting sick taught me a hard truth. Most jobs don’t care about their employees. Not all, there are some good bosses out there. But the majority? To them you’re just a number. They develop selective memory. They forget the worker you used to be before illness took over and focus on the worker you are now. They forget the overtime you put in, the projects you carried on with, the skipped breaks or lunches, the times you stepped up without being asked. All they see is the now. The call outs. The slower work pace. The leaving early for doctor appointments. The extra breaks you need to make it through the day. You go from being a “team player” to a “problem” employee. At the end of the day, to them, it’s all about profits. You’re replaceable. Always So please, I learned this the hard way, but stop killing yourself for a job that will have you replaced in a second.

Take as much days off as you can, these jobs don't care about you.

Please take your days off. Your sick days. Your vacation days. Companies and corporations do not care about you.
