@farminguin Yes, it is using a Here+ RTK gps unit. I also want to try an #ardusimple simpleRTK2B unit I have with NTRIP to see how it goes.

@gavztheouch Hi @gavztheouch it will steer using differential steering (skid steering, one motor for each wheel) of the front wheels. Rear wheels are free to pivot independently using castor geometry.

As Paul Kelly sort of said "From little things (slightly bigger) things grow.

@rsvlim Hi @rsvlim glad to hear you find my work interesting. I started out with the ardurover/mission planner software, although there are similar alternatives. Good to start out small and work how to scale up as you build and test. I use open source resourses as much as possible.

@merbeinrobotics hey I'm an undergrad student in mechatronics and i really love your works and the design on the pathfinder. i will be building my first robot but quite a tiny compared to your rover. do you have any advice on starters and what to learn? resources ?

@merbeinrobotics Very cool. What sort of motors/control system are you going to drive it with?

Agtechbydesign's Weed Selector and Carbon Robotics were there. Wish I had a chance to catch up with Carbon Robotics.

Another great demo was given by the Burrow autonomous robot towing a Weed Selector spot spraying unit by Agtech by Design at the #Mildura Field Days on Friday.

Life is strange. In the gap between finishing the PhD and starting a new job at University of Copenhagen, I've been diagnosed with early stage Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Fortunately, surrounded by my amazing family, friends and medical professionals to get me cured with chemo.

Challenge First farmer/farmer group to send 1k images of a weed in-crop, I'll annotate for free, upload to WeedAI and use to train a public, benchmark model for the OWL. Rough requirements: 1. about 1 - 5 weeds per image 2. top down (examples below) 3. decent quality/consistent

@BenBoughton1 @GeezaColeman @openweedlocator Yep I'm using mission planner. Putting a waypoint at the end of each vine row. I've been playing around with QGIS to plan missions without having to pre-record waypoints with the rover. I didn't know much about AB lines until I started playing around with agopengps last year.

@merbeinrobotics @GeezaColeman @openweedlocator Do you plan your missions with mission planner? I am thinking this through now, there is no concept of a AB line except for a survey but I'll need to run on a tram line. I may need to code up my own planner to deal with stored ABs and mapped trees etc too.

Trying out the Pathfinder on the lawn. Might be able to bolt a lawn mower to it one day. May need a siren to warn Barry as well! #ardurover, @openweedlocator

@farminguin @brendanw59 @GeezaColeman @openweedlocator Hi @farminguin this prototype has an 18Ah 12V lead acid battery so range is about 1300m or 1/2 a Ha of vines. I'll be using bigger lead acid batteries in the short term but Lipo or LiFePo may be an option but the extra weight of the old lead acid batteries is good for traction.
