I want to fly @TurkishAirlines. I want to be loyal. But they make it really hard. Here is a cautionary tale: I bought a Y-class (full-fare economy) LAX↔ADB (via IST) round trip for $2,200. A single leg on Y class earns 8,568 miles. Life happened, I changed the return leg through the app. The change screen showed ~8,000 miles. Confirmation email said fare class Q (6,855 miles). My account received 2,226 miles, calculated at class P - a fare class that appears in zero documents they ever sent me. I asked 4 times through their "Elite/Elite Plus" online support: "Show me where it says P." Got 4 template replies. They even asked me for a screenshot of their own app. Final answer: "We cannot proceed differently with your request." I even called their phone support. The agent confirmed that flight changes default to the lowest available fare class. But she couldn't do anything about it either. So, screenshot everything. The app/website will promise, the backend will quietly downgrade your fare class, support will tell you it was always correct, and even their own agents will shrug.
