@BarredinDC I have to mention Sami's Hot Dog Cart near the Smithsonian. He's a legend and has great homemade chili and cheese sauce and fresh toppings. $6 for a regular dog (mustard/kraut) and $8 for a fancy one

My prediction is they doesn’t really become a thing long term. People aren’t gonna pay $15 for a hot dog which is what you need to charge even for a fast casual spot in DC to make it

Since I've already had some questions about this image, let me set the scene where the shooting occurred. This is the west side of the White House complex. The camera is facing north up 17th Street NW on the right of the screen (numbered streets run north and south in DC). Just to the right, off screen, is the barricade that was set up to block Pennsylvania Avenue NW in front of the White House after the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. Prior to then, you could drive in front of the White House. The brown building on the upper right of the screen is the New Executive Office Building at 725 17th Street NW (it's actually almost 60-years-old). The Old Executive Office Building also faces 17th Street NW and is just behind and to the right of the camera, or just south of the intersection. If you were to follow Pennsylvania Avenue to the west (left side of the screen) you would be heading toward Foggy Bottom and Georgetown. Just six blocks to the west is George Washington University Hospital, a trauma center. It is the closest hospital to the White House. #whitehouse #shooting #police #USSS
