Out today in @sciencemagazine, we've journeyed into our shared history with Neandertals by analyzing over 300 present-day and ancient modern humans, including 59 individuals who lived between 2,000 and 45,000 years ago.

Great news! 🥳 Led by the amazing @MatejaHajdi, a new Max Planck Research Group for Hominin Palaeogenomics started @MPI_EVA_Leipzig. 😊😍 Using cutting-edge #aDNA methods, its goal is to shed light on past encounters between hominin groups. @maxplanckpress eva.mpg.de/press/news/art…

When you finish a PhD in computer science, they take you to a special room and explain that you must never use recursion in real life. Its only purpose is to make programming hard for undergrads.

@StephPeyregne , @VivSlon and I decided to try and summarize everything we’ve learned about Denisovans since their discovery just over a decade ago. It started out as a Friday morning discussion group and grew into this review, Here’s to the next decade - so much still to learn!

Ancient DNA retrieved from a finger bone in 2010 led to the identification of the #Denisovans. Check out our review @NatureRevGenet of what we learnt over the past decade about this now extinct human group: rdcu.be/dmq22
