I can't stand in solidarity with protests that have been hijacked by the far right. They no longer mean anything when that happens. I'm not standing in solidarity with men who praise rapists, racists and women haters on a daily basis. End of

The rural urban divide showing itself in responses to the fuel protests. Comfortable Dubliners don’t seem to have any understanding of how much fuel costs impact in rural Ireland. It’s weird.. most of us are no more than a generation or two away from feeding chickens and calves.

This was always going to happen. The "our wimmin and our children" brigade.

People trapped in traffic jams, including my 2 year old granddaughter for 3 hours. Working people prevented from getting to their jobs. Petrol stations running dry. How does this help farmers and haulers? Only beneficiaries are far right loons, managing to get on TV yet again

The majority of people blockading the roads are not 'farmers' in the sense of an old fella running some sheep and growing a few cabbage. They are businessmen, with multimillion capital investments in heavy machinery. What they want is a sectoral handout.

I wonder do those genuine farmers & truckers, those who don't give a toss about Greta Thunberg or refugees, realise that their pain & anger is possibly being weaponised to create platforms & profile for those with bad intent? People who aspire to be the Irish Trump or Farage.

Farmers are quietly relieved that the Gardai are calmly taking control of protest sites. Elements from the far right are determined to ruin it for the farmers, who badly need assistance.

After 10 years, the SDGs in Ireland are at approximately 80% adoption, way ahead of the global average of 12%. 👉 But after 10 years of SDGs, just look at the absolute state of the country. This is a grotesque case of a Prestige Project in the Public Sector taking precedence over the lives of ordinary citizens. 🟥🟨🟦 🟩 Scrap the SDGs!

Protestors doing no harm? Ambulances and Fire engines have to curtail services, petrol stations are out of fuel and food/medicine supply could run out in days because of this "no harm" protest.
