My 5 Golden Rules of Bitcoin: 1. Don’t Trust. Verify. 2. The Stack Stays Silent. 3. Not Your Keys, Not Your Coins. 4. Time in the Protocol Beats Timing the Market. 5. Stay Humble. Stack Sats.

I still don't know which side I'm on... ***** The controversy centers on a pretty deep ideological fight inside the Bitcoin community about what Bitcoin is for, who controls protocol direction, and whether “spam” like inscriptions/Ordinals should be tolerated on-chain. At a high level: Matt Odell is viewed as part of the more conservative, decentralization-first Bitcoin camp. BIP-110 supporters are pushing a proposed Bitcoin soft fork intended to restrict certain kinds of data storage and “spam” transactions on Bitcoin. The dispute became personal and political because Odell publicly criticized the movement and some of its advocates, while BIP-110 supporters accused him of protecting entrenched Bitcoin Core interests or being too passive about spam. (YouTube) What BIP-110 is trying to do (according to supporters) BIP-110 proponents argue that Bitcoin is increasingly being clogged by: Ordinals inscriptions BRC-20 tokens large OP_RETURN data payloads NFT-like activity They claim this: increases blockchain bloat, raises node operation costs, harms Bitcoin’s monetary use case, and turns Bitcoin into a generalized data-storage chain. Supporters frame BIP-110 as an anti-spam soft fork that would make certain kinds of arbitrary data transactions invalid at the consensus layer. (YouTube) Why Matt Odell pushed back Odell’s criticisms appear to fall into several buckets: 1. Fear of contentious chain splits A major concern is that forcing through a restrictive soft fork without broad consensus could split Bitcoin socially and technically. Many long-time Bitcoiners are extremely wary of anything resembling: the Bitcoin Cash split, miner wars, activist forks, or unilateral protocol enforcement. BIP-110 critics see the proposal as overly aggressive and socially dangerous. 2. “Spam” is subjective Odell and others have argued that Bitcoin is permissionless. Meaning: if someone pays valid fees, and transactions follow consensus rules, then calling it “spam” becomes political rather than objective. A common anti-BIP-110 argument is: “You don’t get to decide which valid transactions are morally acceptable.” 3. Concerns about protocol ossification and precedent Critics worry that if Bitcoin starts banning categories of transactions based on social preference, it creates a dangerous governance precedent. The fear is: today inscriptions are banned, tomorrow privacy tools, CoinJoin, multisig patterns, or other unpopular transaction types could become targets. 4. Disagreement over node policy vs consensus rules Some Bitcoiners think spam filtering should happen voluntarily through: mempool policy, miner choice, or alternate node software, rather than through a consensus-level soft fork. This distinction is a huge deal in Bitcoin culture. Why the controversy got heated The debate became emotional because it touched several fault lines simultaneously: Bitcoin Core vs Bitcoin Knots tensions censorship vs spam prevention miner power vs node power activist soft forks distrust of venture-backed “Bitcoin ecosystem” companies personal relationships among prominent Bitcoin personalities BIP-110 supporters accused Odell of: downplaying the spam problem, protecting establishment interests, refusing to engage seriously with the proposal, or relying on ad hominem attacks. (YouTube) Meanwhile Odell-aligned critics characterized BIP-110 advocates as: reckless, authoritarian, attempting a hostile fork, or trying to redefine Bitcoin through activism rather than consensus. (YouTube) The underlying philosophical divide This is really the core disagreement: BIP-110 side: “Bitcoin should primarily be money. If we don’t stop spam now, Bitcoin becomes an expensive garbage dump.” Odell/anti-BIP-110 side: “Bitcoin is permissionless money. Once you start deciding which valid transactions are acceptable, you undermine neutrality.” That’s why the argument became so intense. It’s not just technical. It’s about the identity and governance philosophy of Bitcoin itself.

Something to consider: kawhi has signed for max 7 years… during that time he’s only played about 3.25-3.5 seasons worth of total games. Is a part time lover really worth a spot on the team’s Mount Rushmore? Don’t get me wrong, as a long time clippers fan, i appreciate what he’s done. But Sam Cassell played about the same number of games…his impact was pretty big for the franchise. Does he deserve a spot?

When everybody’s leveraged long, the market gets fragile. Doesn’t take much to trigger a liquidation cascade. At the end of the day… Either way… I don’t care. I’ll just sit here and watch it all unfold while I keep adding to my stack. 🤷🏻 Side note: playing with leverage can leave you rekt. Don’t play with leverage.

It would be a massive mistake for the Clippers not to bring Mathurin back. He’s a star!! And barely 23 years old. He’s younger than Garland. Don’t be the team that doesn’t value him. Bring Mathurin back and start him at sg.

.@lastdinnerparty’s new single “Big Dog” completely caught me off guard. .@PatrickDroney’s new single “Back In My Body” feels like the kind of warm, reflective song built for late spring drives and easy summer afternoons. Blending folk-pop rhythms with honest songwriting, the track taps into that feeling of reconnecting with yourself after drifting emotionally off course. ✍️: @methodman13 Click the link below or in our profile to check it out. blurredculture.com/patrick-droney… #PatrickDroney #BackInMyBody #Blurredculture #MadeYouLook #WarnerRecords #IndieFolk #FolkPop #SingerSongwriter #newmusic #SingleReview #KelseaBallerini #IndiePop #SummerPlaylist #NowPlaying #FolkMusic #AlternativeMusic #AcousticVibes #MusicDiscovery #musicblog #NewRelease #AmericanaMusic #SpotifyMusic #MusicJournalism #PlaylistPick #FeelGoodMusic #BrooklynArtist #ChillVibes #PopFolk #MusicLovers #SongOfTheDay
