She checked her phone for the fifth time, the screen still quiet, the restaurant booth across from her still empty. At home, she had spent hours slow-simmering carne asada, chopping cilantro just right, warming tortillas in foil, imagining his smile when she told him she’d planned a cozy second stop after dinner. The waiter cleared the untouched glass of water, and the truth settled in: he wasn’t coming. She packed up the leftovers she’d brought to surprise him later, the scent of cumin and lime clinging to the container like a promise that never got to breathe. As she walked out into the cool night, she wondered, how could someone walk away so easily from a person who cared enough to plan every detail, even the food?

🚨HOLY SHIT: New audio has been released from a pilot who suggests the military jet (that Trump ordered) to the Caribbean almost got 200 people killed. The JetBlue flight narrowly avoided a mid-air collision OFF near Venezuela. This is horrific.

“My plane can hold 5000 gallons of fuel, so what on earth is this?” “What the Frick are they trying to pull on us?” Ever been down the Jet Fuel Conspiracy Rabbit Hole? If so this clip is for you…..

@bscholl Yep, and the aircraft waiting to use the gate can burn the fuel instead, and you can delay incoming passengers too. Win Win all the way. 🤣🤣

Airplanes shouldn’t physically line up to take off at busy airports. This wastes tons of jet fuel. Instead, use a virtual queue. Stay at the gate until it’s nearly time to take off. This would save many tons of fuel… and also enables re-ordering of the virtual queue.

NEW: A woman is testing out “body privacy shades” on airplanes — a foldable plastic divider that blocks off your seat from everyone else. She claims it helps with privacy and germ control. ✈️😷 Would you use one of these on your next flight or is this going too far? Thoughts? ⬇️ 🇺🇸

@SeniorKolchek @TinaZimmermann4 Nice to see an intelligent comment 🤣…. And a window is opened on the wonderful word of fuel calculations, where fuel is different prices at different locations - so is it best to bring more fuel than you need to save money on refuelling? Fun differential equations.

Air Safety #OTD by Francisco Cunha
This is Russia, so normal to see the pilot deploying thrust reversers BEFORE the aircraft touches the ground. Elsewhere, the usual SOP - at least for a passenger jet - is to let the jet LAND before using the T/R.

@OnDisasters The centre engine of the Trident was used in reverse before landing to slow the aircraft down- all the V speeds on that aircraft were sooooo high!

@kalapian_ @OnDisasters The reverse thrust is kept in a locked box in the cockpit, and released when needed. It seems to have escaped here
