You shouldn’t need a driveway to own an electric car. My Plan for Change is boosting funding for infrastructure to allow cables to run safely beneath pavements. That’s cheaper, at home charging – putting money back in the pockets of working people.

@chilternrailway The fault was there before the train set off. I mistakenly assumed the aircon would come on when it set off. We had an hour of intense heat and no staff attention or announcements whatsoever. You can’t tell me it is safe to run trains like this.

@mfretwell Hi Mark, I apologise you are having an uncomfortable journey. This has been reported to our Fleet team to look into. Unfortunately faults can occur with the air conditioning. Faults with the air con can only be altered at the next depot. ~ AK

@E99648294 @chilternrailway Aircon was not on for 1 hour AFTER the engine started. No staff coming through the train - imagine because it it was too hot for them. Shame the consideration doesn’t extend to customers.

@chilternrailway It has been off - totally for 1 hour, it’s over 100 degrees in here - 58457 - it’s just come back on, but lots of people feeling very ill / drenched in sweat - NO staff in the carriages until after it was resolved.

@mfretwell Hi, I am sorry to hear this, the air con is pre set on services to 21 degrees, you should be able to feel it cool once it gets to the right temperature. If not if you could send the 5 digit carriage number above connecting doors I will pass this to the team to be checked.

@ArtCandee $4-5 for an avocado? Something is going seriously wrong if that is what you are paying in the US. They are less than $1 each in the UK and we are so, so far away from where they grow.

Dear MAGA, Imagine you go to a store to buy an avocado, and it usually costs $4. But because of Donald Trump's tariffs on Mexico, the store has to pay the government a fee, so now the avocado costs $5. The store will pass that extra cost onto you, so you end up paying more. Tariffs make things you buy more expensive.

@richardaucock 1/2 had my car serviced today. The quality of the sales approach for an upgrade was so bad I take my car to a quality independent for its 4 year service. Half the cost, none of the hassle.

I wonder if the decline in retail car sales is not because of hesitancy about EVs, but because customers can't find any damn price lists online to make a choice in the first place?
