My message today is to Canada’s farmers, ranchers, growers and to those who dry grain… we lost the vote on the amendment to Bill C-234. We were one vote shy of defeating the amendment. This bill is now gutted. It is likely that this will now die by process back in the House. It’s difficult to think that some in power would have our key food producers carry this tax burden. Our job should be to make operations in the food industry less expensive, not more expensive. The remaining board members include Jay Lennox (District 2); Keith Todd (District 3); Marusha Kostuk (District 4); Ryan Schill (District 5); and Jenna Wight, (District 11).

Brent Herrington, Herrington’s Quality Butchers, processed a lamb into traditional and valued added cuts in under an hour @OntarioSheep’s AGM. Herrington was Ontario’s Finest Butcher in 2019 and is heading to Paris in 2025 as part of Team Canada.

Art Alblas (District 1) is the new OSF Chair, joined by 1st Vice Chair, Ken Lamb (District 7) and 2nd Vice Chair, Karen Davis (District 8).

Ontario Sheep Farmers (OSF) hosted the 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, where they welcomed several new Provincial Directors to the OSF Board, including Grant Cowan (District 6), Wesley Godden (District 9) and Devon Wensink (District 10).
