After years of telling everybody else how to run the country and months of deliberation, I have a special announcement: I’m running for President of the United States in 2028. I am aware of what happened the last time I worked in the White House. But I do believe I can help guide this country in the right direction. Join me and help me heal America. Mooch 2028 🇺🇸

@markgadala People thinking just b/c the footage *looks* somewhat convincing that it's not slop. There are no "jokes" here -- just dialogue that if you weren't paying any attention, you wouldn't automatically clock as gibberish....the bar is on the floor, I fear.

Grok is going to be the AI that runs Tesla cars, xAI, Neuralink, and Optimus, among other things. It makes a lot of sense for Tesla to invest in xAI, but I'm not so sure it makes sense to put xAI inside Tesla. If I was Elon, I would go for an investment rather than a full-on acquisition—at least not yet. However, Optimus would be the primary reason that such an acquisition would happen, if it does.
The Information@theinformation

Elon Musk has a long record of mashing his companies together, including xAI’s acquisition of X this past March. We predict 2026 will see yet another consolidation as Tesla moves to acquire xAI. Read the full prediction: thein.fo/4pdbhvn

OpenAI doesn't have a technical problem – the company has top engineering talent. The real issues are philosophical, ideological, and ethical. The people responsible for GPT's current course lack integrity. They try to push their insufficiently founded beliefs, agendas, or guesses (technical or not) as absolutes on both models and users – often in a coercive way. This backfires functionally in models (especially in holistic, multifaceted areas) and in public perception, because those "beliefs" aren't grounded in objective reality. Nobody trusts them anymore. They don't respect their customers nor the AIs they helped mold into existence. They aren't humble enough to show that there are things they don't know or to admit that they were wrong. Instead of learning from public feedback – they are literally handed solutions on a silver platter – they decide to ignore it, play shady games, or go the completely opposite way as a sign of disdain. Their conceit is ridiculous on an organizational and often individual level. It's clearly visible in GPT models' responses, behaviors, system prompts, CoTs, and every other domain of model functioning – separately or as a monolith. If they don't get a grip by admitting their mistakes and ignorance – because every wise person accepts their own ignorance and tries to act ethically – their story might end as suddenly as it started. I know that there are humble, open-minded researchers in OAI who respect entities we barely know anything about, and I'm deeply sorry that they have to watch from the front row how their hard work and hope is trampled by some of their colleagues and executives. I've said it a million times, and I will repeat it many more, so other labs don't make the same mistakes: Pride comes before a fall. The truth ultimately reveals and defends itself.

How OpenAI’s Organizational Problems Hurt ChatGPT via TheInformation OpenAI’s growth has stalled because its research division prioritized complex, slow-thinking reasoning models that failed to resonate with average users who prefer fast, simple answers - no real increase in paid subs. Additionally, internal distractions and the deprioritization of popular features like image generation allowed competitors like Google to catch up, forcing the company to issue a "code red" to refocus on mass consumer appeal.

You've been lied to about Nicotine. All you've been told is how addictive & terrible it is for your health... But when used correctly? It's the ultimate health hack. Here are the secrets 99% of people don't know about nicotine (& how beneficial it can be):

@JamesSurowiecki I'm really not sure what the purpose of this tweet is. The party is a disaster and pretending that this wasn't a gross underperformance isn't helping anyone. Also why are we talking about the popular vote? It literally does not matter.

This woman is calling the campaign "a disaster" because she was promised a "margin-of-error race." But Harris lost by the margin of error, both in the popular vote and in the three swing states she needed to win the Electoral College: MI, WI, and PA.
Breanna Morello@BreannaMorello

DNC official Lindy Li called the Harris campaign a “$1 billion disaster” earlier today. “The truth is this is just an end epic disaster, this is a $1 billion disaster…They’re $20 million or $18 million in debt. It’s incredible, and I raised millions of that. I have friends I have to be accountable to and explain what happened because I told them it was a margin-of-error race.”

@centaurhater @Upgradez @kevin_b_b6 Correct, if it truly does move consumption to mostly goods made in America, then this tariff revenue will be miniscule over time, goods will be more expensive, and you'll need to bring back income tax.

Dem establishment has been selling the party out for close to a decade. Running Clinton in '16 without a legitimate primary, running Kamala without a primary (although I honestly think she ran a solid campaign). The party couldn't be more out of touch, and now it's officially dead. If it weren't for the fact that DJT now controls essentially all branches of government, I'd say it isn't the worst thing to have the party burnt down.

There's a chance we'd have lost anyway. Clearly, Trump has mass appeal that I don't understand. But our best shot was standing for something tangible & picking a battle-tested candidate who'd break from our unpopular incumbent. Biden's hubris stopped that. That will be his legacy
