@mattmclartySD @southdakotamj I "let" my opponents spread lies? What? I held a press conference calling out their lies, which generated a large amount of earned media coverage. Then I sent letters to every station airing the ad. I did everything possible to call out their lies.

I've fought the industry and aligned with the industry. I do what's best for the people. I get attacked by fringe elements including yours, but I usually win.

@FredDeutsch By "weed" I hope you don't mean another round of bills intended to undermine the medical cannabis program and make access more difficult for patients. If you do mean that, please know that we'll be ready to stop you...just as we've done for the past two years.

Look for these issues to highlight the 2023 South Dakota legislature: 1. Eliminate state tax on food 2. Abortion 3. Weed 4. Mental Health 5. Juvenile Justice 6. Prisions 7. Medicaid 8. Budget 9. Education

And in the end, we will prevail.

Throughout that time, we've conducted ourselves with integrity. We have demonstrated strength and resilience and compassion. We have fought for people who needed our help. At every turn, we have always done what we believed served the interests of the people of South Dakota.

Yesterday was a sad day for many South Dakotans. Initiated Measure 27, our ballot initiative to legalize cannabis for adults 21 and over, failed at the ballot box. Many people poured their hearts and souls into this campaign.
