Thank You Pirate Ship for saving me a treasure worth of cash this Holiday Season! Seriously, what's up with Amazon's shipping rates right now?

November is in the books. Happy with my progress. Was out of town last week so could not do any FBM. Been super busy today fulfilling orders and adding products to my catalog.

@lukericefba Good advice....I'm working on the small scale FBM now...haha...can't wait to scale like that someday!

As hard as I try to stay on top of my inventory sometime products slip through the cracks and I don't restock before running out of product. Trying to fine tune low inventory notifications in @sellerboard so I never run out of stock on a good asin. I keep learning everyday!

@amzdylann Great insight. These are the observations I need to learn. Thanks!

you think that flat keepa line at $34.99 means "stable profitable product"
that's a graveyard
6 sellers already lost $20k trying to compete there
and you're about to be number 7
new sellers see 90-day Keepa chart
price flat at $34.99 sales rank dropping consistently
8 FBA sellers
they think "perfect stable product"
buy 400 units
send to FBA
price crashes to $29.99 in 3 weeks
liquidate at $27.50
lose $2,800
here's what they missed
that "stable" $34.99 was post-war pricing
12 months ago: $52.99 with 2 sellers
9 months ago: $47.99 with 8 sellers
6 months ago: $39.99 with 14 sellers
3 months ago: $31.99 after liquidation wave
the flat line you're seeing is the bottom
not the opportunity
the 6 remaining sellers are bag holders hoping it recovers
it won't
because you just showed up with 400 more units
example
product on Tactical Arbitrage
30-day chart showed $31.99 flat rank 18,000 average
6 FBA sellers
COGS $14.40 sale price $31.99 profit $6.70
47% ROI looked perfect
then i checked 365-day history
product was $52.99 a year ago
crashed $21 over 12 months
that "stable" price was the wreckage
passed on it
2 weeks later saw same product at $27.50
3 new sellers found the same TA alert
price war restarted
everyone liquidating now
the chart lied to them
here's what flat price actually means
no one can raise price = maximum competition already arrived
margin already compressed to minimum
you're not finding opportunity
you're arriving at equilibrium
sellers adding inventory to a saturated market
what actually works
look for volatile price with declining seller count
price bouncing $38-44 over 90 days seller count dropped 12 to 6
means weak sellers got shaken out
survivors have pricing power
or rising price with stable sellers
$31 to $37 over 90 days 3-4 sellers consistently
means demand exceeded supply
or new seller entry with price holding
sellers slowly entering price maintaining or increasing rank showing velocity
means room still exists
the reading system
check 365 days not 90
90 shows current state 365 shows the story
if price was $60 and now $32 you're seeing collapse
if price was $32 and now $34 you're seeing mature
product
compare seller count to price moves
price dropped when sellers spiked = competition killed it
price held when sellers increased = demand absorbed supply
price increased when sellers dropped = supply shortage
check variation level data
main ASIN shows $34.99 stable
but blue variation: stable red variation: crashed $39 to $28
black variation: discontinued
aggregate data hiding individual disasters
real example of correct reading
April 2024 product
365-day history: April 2023: $44.99 / 3 sellers July 2023: $47.99 / 4 sellers Oct 2023: $51.99 / 4 sellers Jan 2024: $49.99 / 6 sellers April 2024: $48.99 / 5 sellers
price increased despite more sellers
healthy churn (6 down to 5)
pricing power maintained
bought 600 units
sold at $48.99 for 4 months
repriced to $51.99 when 2 sellers left
still selling today at profit
because the 365-day chart told the real story
not the 90-day illusion
flat price on Keepa isn't stability
it's compression

And this is why I love @pirateship.
Amazon giving me one shipping option at $15.23. Checked out Pirate Ship and had multiple options with the cheapest being $6.83 with a delivery date 2 days before my required delivery window starts. Save the dough and keep moving forward!

@tonafba @SellerAmp I've had to learn the hard way with this. I would get so excited I would just restock, restock, restock without looking at the new trends. Now I always check the numbers first....saves $ and makes me more efficient.
English

I’ve had way too many "good products" turn into losses because I didn’t double-check the numbers before restocking them
Now every time before I reorder I run it back through the @SellerAmp history feature to check what I paid
Then I check Keepa if:
- The price tanked
- More sellers jumped in
- Sales rank slowed down
- My ROI still holds after shipping/prep
What worked last month might break even this month so you need to have a system for restocking

@miah4square @flips4miles Congrats! The learning curve to 100K is steep. Now comes the fun part: scaling with efficiency 🔥
English

I hit 100k in sales YTD. Im happy with my progress so far and have learned a lot along the way. Now, to continue to streamline my systems, grow and scale this up to reach my ultimate goals. Thanks @flips4miles for the help and guidance along the way.
