@thekitze A lot of absolute opinions in the comments. I think they miss something crucial: Figma is great in some cases, but if you’re designing something very interactive (like an editor), even 100 connected Figma frames won’t truly explain the experience and won’t be testable.

I love designing with code. the iteration is so fucking fast, especially with the right primitives. figma feels like an unnecessary step in between

@crypitos @NikkiSiapno I just tried it. Maybe I gave it bad input, but I got random fonts with company name + what looks like icon library search “logos” mixed with random colors, bad kerning and element positioning. Better than word art but nowhere near templates from stock sites.

@bxlewi1 That’s the whole thing, if Apple is listening to consumers that means they are following not leading. Profitable in the short-mid term but itthe odds of them surprising and delighting get lower with each bland product like that

The whole @Apple ad push is a good reminder that once @tim_cook goes as the CEO, we will see mediocre behavior become pervasive & so-called privacy push will give way to rampant data collection. The stock price & valuation will become a noose around this company's neck.

@MichalHawelka @5t3ph 100% agree. Also the reason for the role “UI developer”. Few “frontenders” have deep knowledge in CSS, markup, browser rendering performance, etc. I believe “UI developer” is a good role to hire for.. also making other frontenders more efficient.

@5t3ph That’s something that always surprises me - you’re going on an interview for a frontend dev and nobody asks you anything about HTML and CSS. So you could master JS and get the job, nobody would know that your markup is sh*t until you start working 😅

Psst - the "front-end" is highly dependent on HTML and CSS. You absolutely should hire for those specific skillsets. (And in my experience those are the folks who also care most about accessibility)

When did @sketch become so buggy? My component lib claims all components changed but crashes when I try to update them. So I'm basically unable to work until this is resolved 🙄
