@asaio87 Using a "flowtimer", I start and stop it manually because Pomodoro breaks my flow sometimes. But I'm by no means a workaholic; I'm actually trying to work more, but the burnout came from "thinking" about work 24/7, never shutting off.

Software developers dont understand the point of side projects. I think you should not work after 6PM to meet the deadline Assuming you are 100% focused at work, when 6pm hits, you should focus on your own things. Just spend 1 more hour and finish at 7PM but work on your own side project or app So you can finally quit that 9-5 some day and be able to spend 9AM to 6PM with the family. Now with AI you can really speed up development. Ship that side project

@naval I've often felt like a failure with no real accomplishments, but sometimes I get inspired. Ten years ago, it was Tesla; now, it's AI. So, I'm learning how to code. I don't know where I'll end up, but it feels right.

If AI lets non-developers replace junior developers, imagine what it lets junior developers do.

@stijnnoorman Personally, I’m not a big fan of the grind mindset. Play, pleasure, leisure, and rest are just as important as work. What matters is consistency — not a year of grinding followed by six months of burnout. In other words, it’s okay to hang out with your friends.
