@chapschatcats Reckon Scott's developed the squad-like mentality of top EPL teams where he has a squad of 27-28 interchangeable players to manage thru year. Someone said this week was the best 23 but Stanley, Bews, Bowes, Clark, Knevitt and Worpel (Stengle) could all come in before any kids.

3/3 Bowes is a midfielder, that's where he played in the VFL and absolutely racked it up - as expected. Credit to him for taking the omission like a pro and churning out a great performance anyway. But did Geelong's AFL side really look lacking for another mid v the Lions? No.

1/2 I'm not sure why the Jack Bowes omission against Brisbane is so upsetting to some. I tend to see it as a terrific advantage that there's enough depth in the side that even a player like Bowes who is *clearly* far too good for the VFL, isn't guaranteed a spot each week.

I honestly cannot remember a time when the AFL looked so amateurish and unprofessional. If the AFL were a club right now, its board would call for an independent review of all areas of the club from the top down, that’s how badly it’s travelling

The AFC copped it hard in the neck by all & sundry after he was delisted & went on to a 🏆 with the cats! Never did the afl media consider the self serving issues he had while at the AFC! We were lambasted as culture-less! Geelong were praised like messiahs! And here we are!

@bdosi72 Geelong were able to help him become a player who would win a flag, become an AA and be an almost 2-goal-a-game small forward. Maybe, if the Crows had better staff then you could've had the same success also.

I like that over a six week period on Friday nights the Sydney derby, Showdown, Lions/Carlton, Pies/Swans and Freo/Saints aren't big enough to justify a stand alone game - but next week we can have Richmond stand alone 👍
