kyc is the most likely direction things take because of these things, but isn’t a solution to what you’re talking about you have three paths really, but they really fall into two brackets (1) tech measuring humans > software on current devices, scanning biometrics or identifiers. this doesn’t work as a solution, is a paradox in a world where what’s being scanned is being used to train the means to fake it. and the identifier stuff is its own circular logic. scanning faces, hands, passports, using phones, isn’t a solution. > because ^ doesn’t work, cameras can be injected, and phones would need to be several orders of magnitude better for it to work even if injection solved for (which would mean more expensive than works for mass-consumer products), new hardware is needed and methods of scaling its use. so world(coin). the problem there is that gtm doesn’t work - the whole world would need to be like an airport for this to work. you can just sell the account or device when scanned. the huge amount of this happening is why they reverted to including face scans on phones - which is circular logic. scanning faces on phones doesn’t work, so we deploy new hardware; scaling the hardware as a form of verification means it can be sold so we scan your face on phone every week. (2) tech is only a conduit for human coordination around transient spans of relativity. the only ground truth remaining is real recognises real; this is the only remaining fact, whether it interfaces with tech (as a system) or not (which it currently doesn’t) there are two paths that are second order effect of ai acceleration/ dead internet - the world becomes more like an airport - the actual dynamics that underpin the social layer regress to spans of relativity (the world becomes more like social clubs) companies and governments will walk the first path and humans/ the user-layer walk the second. so both are valid, though the first only works with new hardware and mass corporate/ state cohort involvement. so the only real play there is world, and all the face/ hand/ passport scan stuff is early dunning kruger the second one is the more real play, though seemingly more abstract, and the only stuff going for it are just creating silo’s that are more for positioning’s sake, or narrative capture alone of like a digital/ parasocialaccount vouch (slop). you don’t need new tech to make a groupchat of your friends that you know are real; without an internet (an interconnected-network) of those effects, most of the most valuable parts of the internet (which are also interwoven with broader society) are lost whether it interfaces with tech or not, the network principles that underpinned the social inter(connected)net(work) and all of its outcome layer decay ~ once the wrong people show up to a party, it’s not just* that it’s diluted (and harder to know who’s good/ bad when meeting someone), it’s also that the good ones leave (or change behaviour, and previous outcomes decay) ~ once a third of the timeline is slop (whether bots, overextended parasocial/ influencer dynamic, linkedin/ sf slop, ragebait etc), it’s not just* that it’s harder to find real posts, it’s that the real ones stop posting (or filter away from the surface layer) the only thing that can _solve_ the dead internet is the alive internet [ ]
