I had no idea Roald Dahl was such a brazen Jew hater. Somewhat stomach churning as several of his books are favourites with our kids. Certainly not the only great writer in this shameful camp.

This is terrifying. Clergy here know the Rabbi at Bevis Marks which, as the only non-Christian place of worship in the City of London, is a remarkable and beautiful place. Prayers this evening for our Jewish friends.

Wonder if they actually work in food banks, provide community meals? If so, they'd know food already there. Problems? Housing, employment, psychiatric care. Will damage donations, require checking for theft, digress from real issues.

@WATCH_ACT This isn't about being "nice" but about flippant and irresponsible comparisons to Hitler. Such hyperbole minimizes the sadism of the Nazis and also cheapens your argument. I really don't understand how a Christian cannot see this and correct the matter.

Please stop telling women we have to be nice and to stop being angry about the harm misogyny causes. It’s hard for the church to speak about the suffering of women in our world simply for being women and our lives valued less - when we are institutionally sexist ourselves.

@WATCH_ACT I believe and support strongly the ordination of women, but this comment is really mean and quite vicious. Indirectly yes, but a comparison of the exegetical teaching of ASLP to Hitler is insidious. The tone of this account is really undermining the cause you are promoting.

After three Toronto synagogues were shot at in the past few days I'm trying to find out if local Christian leaders have spoken up or offered solidarity - hearing little from official sources.

Only saying that so-called bible based theology has been used to support these positions. Same is true for slavery and the southern baptist convention only admitted it had got its theology on slavery wrong in 1995 - after countless lives had been marred or lost.
