@johnknopf Great question…completely subjective…Is it monetary value? Utilitarian? Social? How is a piece perceived by the viewer. How is it comtextualized? The idea of the same piece displayed in someone’s home or in a common place versus a gallery, the perceived value changes.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what defines the value of someones work. I’m going to use art as an example since most of us are artists or collectors. Does the time invested in a piece of art define its value? Does risking your life to create, make your art more 🧵1/6
