"There is rage in Oasis music and let me explain that to you. If I say to people there’s rage in the music, people might think about screaming and shouting, but you can rage joy. When the Irish are sad they are the saddest people in the world, when they are happy they are the happiest people in the world. When they drink they are the most drunk people in the world, there is one rule for the Irish and different ones for everybody else. We are Irish, me and Liam. There is no English blood in us, and anybody who knows that will know there is drinking and then there is Irish drinking. Irish drinking can be endless Oasis could never have existed, been as big, been as important, been as flawed, been as loved and loathed, if we weren’t all predominantly Irish.” - Noel Gallagher

2024 marked the 10th anniversary of the Wild Atlantic Way. Nearly 2 million extra tourists are now visiting the region every year, generating over €1billion more revenue in 2023 than in 2013, which highlights phenomenal impact on Irish tourism over the past decade. A recent special @RTENationwide mini-series featured many of the communities and businesses that make the #WildAtlantiWay so unique which is available to watch back on the RTE Player here rte.ie/player/series/… @RTEOne @wildatlanticway @Failte_Ireland

The WDC have just released a new report detailing travel to work patterns across the Western Region, drawn from #Census2022 data. The catchment areas covered were: Carrick-on-Shannon, Castlebar, Ennis, Galway City, Letterkenny, Roscommon town and Sligo town. Key findings: 🟡 More people living in the Western Region and at work – up by over 13% since last Census 🟡 Nearly 30% (29.9%) of all workers in the Western Region live in Galway city catchment, up 3% since last Census 🟡 Rurally based employment is still important, often the 2nd most important destination outside of the key centre 🟡 Increased education levels across all seven labour catchments Access the full report here 👉westerndevelopment.ie/publications/t…

What a great day we had celebrating 25 years of the Donegal Women in Business Network at Lough Eske Castle today. We’ve supported the network from the outset; it’s great to see it develop into such a dynamic group representing women in business across Donegal. #DWIBN
