Just wrapped up one of my final beer league games of the 2025-26 season. I walked in to a nightmare scenario: 7 skaters. I'm curious what's your "perfect" beer league lineup? • In my 20's, it was all about 9 skaters. A perfect 6F, 3D rotation. • Now in my 35+ days, I value 9F far too much. It's 13 skaters all day.

No one thinks hockey is the most prestigious event. That’s like saying baseball is the most prestigious event at the summer Olympics. Cross-country ski is much more a winter sport than hockey if you have to go there. Oh and figure skating? Without th Russians it’s not really a competition.

This is of course insane because the U.S. will have won gold in the most prestigious event, women's figure skating, and gold in the team skating event; plus gold in women's hockey and either silver or gold in men's hockey. But Norway wins 25-odd medals in Long Walks with Skis and they get the top spot. Like hey, I won the Secretary-Treasurer position for all the clubs I created in high school. I am therefore a better politician than Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump combined!

Lots of positives to hear from @risingaction’s latest piece with Rutherford. - Further confirmation the team will listen to everybody. Wanted to start this rebuild without touching the core players, not the case anymore, even for players with NMCs. - Acknowledges vets are important for helping develop young players, but that they can sign them too — meaning they’ll be more willing to trade the ones they’ve got. - The focus is on getting a top pick this season. Believes that with the young players in the system, they can turn this around in 2-3 years, rather then 6-10 while also keeping in mind… - It’s about improving the team without taking shortcuts. Talks about patience and continuing to accumulate young players and assets. Acknowledges that it won’t be easy, but to also not lose patience because the club is losing games. This is all a breath of fresh air in this market. #Canucks
