Mayor Jeromy Farkas says the spring shut down is the first of two happening this year. He says the work is preventative. He says he understands the frustrations from Calgarians about another round of water restrictions.

City of Calgary reminding residents the Bearspaw feeder main will be shut down on March 9 to reinforcement repairs on 9 segments. Stage 4 water restrictions will be in place for 4 weeks. Pipe condition is worsening, city officials say.

Let’s compare. If I needed an MRI, in Canada 🇨🇦 I would expect to wait 16.2 WEEKS (more than 3 weeks longer than the wait in 2023), but in the USA 🇺🇸 I could get one tomorrow at 1:15 PM 😁 Why do Canadians accept this?

Sorry that happened to you however you are posting supporting this crap, go pay the money ..you can in private clinic and can claim medical expenses on your taxes. No ER in Canada would turn you away in a crisis

@MelissaLMRogers Yeah, the free healthcare left me disabled after years of trying to get a diagnosis unable to work they finally diagnosed me once my aneurisms leaked into my brain and even then I had to fight for an angiogram

I still don’t understand why about 40% of Canadians think healthcare in Canada is free. This is like Canada 101 🇨🇦 It’s NOT free. And it’s barely available either

@MelissaLMRogers You are very wrong. 4 months for an MRI is standard if it’s not a medical emergency and quite frankly that’s not much of a wait at all. You can book a MRI privately and it is $850 without contrast / $1100 with which then you can claim on your taxes. Wait < 2 weeks.
