Government facing ‘irreparable damage’ with farmers over fuel costs, senior FF TD warns buff.ly/3bDPEqe

Not sure. We more than matched the Czechs. Played well. A silly penalty to give away and then conceded from a set piece. It was chaos. Refereed like a hurling match. Could penalties have been practiced? We will be competitive at Euro 2028, we are building.

@JohnDugganSport Blew a 2 nil lead when they had them on the ropes …. Not good enough - Denmark would have spanked us
English

@Malachians And the scoring first three, saving one…in our own hands and blew it spectacularly…the 4th and 5th penaltiea were abysmal

Awful last two penalties…unlucky…sitting on a 2-1 lead never good @IrelandFootball

@mickfinn01 @rtenews 👍 Ultimately Moran has a mandate but no significant powers - just access to more meetings in Dublin! Continuation of the 'begging bowl' mentality in a centralised system. Given that we legislated for DEMs in 2001 it's remarkable that the details have never been worked out!

Major of Limerick John Moran has called on the Government to provide clarity on legislation governing the functioning of his office, amid reports of tensions between him, and local councillors and officials
rte.ie/news/regional/…
English

@JohnCregan74 @rtenews @AodhQuinlivan It was brought in early in ‘24 I think, prior to election? The split between executive and reserved functions, and the role of the CE:DEM , were the concerns people had…from both sides!
English

@mickfinn01 @rtenews @AodhQuinlivan Correct re 2019 vote, but the actual Legislation was in place well in advance on the 2024 Election in Limerick. The Legislation is clear. What J.Moran is tyring to do now is effectively end the role of the DG and have all the functions effectively under Mayoral control.
English

@AodhQuinlivan @rtenews Correct and right…and it’s what we feared in 2019…it might explain to those who questioned my stance as a sitting Lord Mayor…not that I’m against the concept of a directly elected mayor, but it has to be an empowered and thought-out position. The Limerick experience underlines
