Going to try a sheep enrichment device to give my new shedding sheep somewhere to scratch. Blunt knife sections for the win on hay feeders. I suspect that part of their reputation for getting through fences comes because they like to rub their old fleece off, hoping distract them

Well, that point has been reached. Nil autumn break means no late winter feed for lambing so these girls will have to go. 21/22/23 drop Composite x Nudie ewes mated to Nudie rams. Great way to kick-start entry into shedding sheep. Lambing ~10th August. DM or call if interested.

Is it possible to use basic computer plus camera plus AI to count sheep? Perhaps not in paddock. Would be a big labour saver to count them up ramps or out of draft/drench races . Chat GPT said it could count them from video. I dont want to use EID. Have portal reader too slow.

@BradMillsteed @JamieNicolaou We’ve a Christie’s that does the lager maxi’s. I think it’s a pain in the coight! Boss keeps sliding out when you’re doing standard posts. Don’t get me wrong, great bit of kit and lighter than the old pneumatics. I’ll probably get a standard one & keep other as a spare

@GordonRefshauge 😆 had three or four… was having issues with the ‘fast weigh’ setting on the auto drafter. It wasn’t going back to 0 leading to some +4 and -4kg initial readings and lots of swearing🤯. The 1s occurred while trying to fix. Went to slower ‘max accuracy’ and it worked fine 🤷‍♂️

Had the boss up at 6am on her day off to help me split up the Jan shorn lambs 😬. They were okay after being in the yards since 7 last night. A bit of a tail in them and the lucerne is loosing quality in the heat so feeders going out to their new paddocks.
