Why oh why doesn’t our establishment accept that its only moral obligation is to the British state and the British people? Not to global welfare. Not to international liberalism. To us, and our country, and our self-government. That is it. The moment they do that, so many of the issues which plague our society become easier to manage. Immigration is no longer a question of benefitting the largest number of global citizens but about boosting the British economy while keeping British people safe. Foreign relations is not about promoting obscure minority rights in far off lands but about securing British interests wherever necessary. And most of all we drop the idea that every culture in the world is the same and therefore anybody can fit in here, and celebrate the fact that Britain has a highly distinct, highly evolved culture all of its own that we want to cherish and protect. What’s so difficult about that?

Trump has just lost a war to Iran. I would liken it to the Suez débâcle except that, at Suez, Britain successfully swept Egyptian resistance aside. We were defeated by Eisenhower’s hostility, not Nasser’s tanks. This time, the US just flat out lost - and the world is vastly worse off for it.

The Charity Commission is not fit for purpose. It reviewed the activities of City of Sanctuary UK. “concerns were raised over the charity’s activities in schools, including the claim that school children were being encouraged to send Valentine’s Day cards to adult asylum seekers. This allegation had been circulating online and was also reported in the media.  Findings  Following a detailed review and a meeting with the charity’s trustees, the regulator did not find evidence to support these allegations.” Look at my screenshot:

@ThePosieParker My girl has been permitted to play for the boys 2nd XI hockey team. She plays for the Girls 1st XI, where we would object to a boy playing. She expressed discomfort that a boy was losing a place in the boys team to her but was told to pipe down. I think it works both ways?
