@jbrendanfrazier Wow, most people don't follow the advice they're paying for. Can you share the source?

A gut-wrenching reminder that your client's financial success has more to do with their behavior than their balance sheet... 70% of clients implement LESS than 20% of recommendations. 🤯 Clients don't just need your knowledge. They need your behavior-changing abilities.

If you are a woman of a certain age and struggling with insomnia, might I recommend taking a Nuun Sport tablet around 6 each night. It’s massively improved my sleep, I usually wake just once to pee now and back to sleep immediately. H/t to @SnarkySteff for the original suggestion

@BoozeDonkey I’m too young to retire forever? And I quit my jobs with no plan other than to take some time off, so semi-retired sounded right.

@benjaminfelix I'm experimenting with a savings vs spending glide path. This is while keeping the fixed expenses fairly static and increasing the discretionary spending.

Switching from saving to spending can be difficult for retirees. People frame money as capital and income and set separate self-control rules for each. Spending from capital feels wrong resulting in under-spending or suboptimal income-focused portfolios. How do you solve this?

@ramit It doesn't take any skill to cherry pick anecdata. Bonus points for confirmation bias.

8. “Stop giving garbage advice” This person bought for $50,000 in 2009, put $7k of renovations, and sold 10 years later for $75,000…and he believes he made a great investment Do you think he did?

Here are some of the worst comments I’ve gotten when I encouraged people to run the numbers before buying a house 1. “House prices always go up, so just buy” — this common belief (which is untrue) justifies buying at essentially any price because they believe “prices only go up”

Our neighbour, @dosankovan restaurant, is currently closed for renovations after a July 17th fire in their building. If you are in the position to help out, then this is an admirable cause to contribute to! scoutmagazine.ca/2022/07/27/dos…
