Hostage Situation in Shrewsbury Ends When Suspect Points Gun at Victim Shrewsbury, Missouri – ON March 29, 2026, at approximately 2:08 a.m., officers from the Shrewsbury Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 7500 block of Murdoch Avenue. Upon arrival, they found 30-year-old Connor Will of Eureka had forced entry into a residence and was holding an adult male victim at gunpoint inside a bedroom. Will was armed with a handgun and a knife and wearing body armor. At approximately 2:30 a.m., the St. Louis County Police Department’s Tactical Operations Unit and Crisis Negotiations Team responded to assist. Negotiators spoke with Will for more than an hour in an effort to de-escalate the situation. Will became agitated and uncooperative during the negotiations. Just after 5:32 a.m., Will pointed his firearm at the victim. A St. Louis County Police tactical operations officer fired, striking Will at least once. Will was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was not injured. No officers were injured. Will did not fire his weapon. On March 30, 2026, Will was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree kidnapping, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, and two counts of armed criminal action. He is being held in the St. Louis County Jail on a $500,000 cash-only bond. The incident stemmed from a report by a female resident who escaped the home; Will was the estranged ex-boyfriend of her daughter. The male victim was her husband.
