BOOMER DAD: Max out your 401k. ME: I don't have an employer match. BOOMER DAD: Doesn't matter. Tax advantages. ME: My HYSA is paying 4.6% liquid. BOOMER DAD: 401k is always the answer. ME: 401k has a 0.8% expense ratio. BOOMER DAD: That's basically nothing. ME: On $200k over 30 years that's $87,000. BOOMER DAD: You're overthinking it. He called fees "basically nothing" his entire career. The fund manager called them "revenue." Same number. Different seat at the table.

@nicknorwitz @BioLayne Your first sentence is blatantly false and shows you don’t talk to regular people. People always claim they aren’t losing fat on a calorie deficit

No one has an issue with thermodynamics @BioLayne The issue is when self-celebrating nutrition “experts” reducing obesity to the post-hoc arithmetic of calorie balance, as if bookkeeping is a biology. Another issue is when people with massive platforms use that shallow take as a springboard to mock and belittle others. It’s not insight. It’s intellectual laziness and cheap dopamine hit from dunking on people instead of actually advancing understanding. Lame. Do better.

The Evolution of GLP Fat Loss Drugs Subtitle: Why I'm Going to Experiment with Reta (link at the end) 1/5) I’ve become fascinated with the evolution of weight loss drugs. First there were GLP-1s, then tirzepatide, and now retatrutide, "GLP-3" These things are coming out like iPhones. (I wonder what GLP-17 Pro will look like?) But, in all seriousness, these peptides, and the universe of peptides more broadly that people are exploring with the intent of bio-optimization, are fascinating. So, I'm going to try it for myself... but hear me out...

@BioLayne It’s astonishing that people still support Gary after that talk where he claimed it takes 3 minutes for your body to liquify muscle for energy.

I'm your huckleberry... Of course you'll duck this debate just like you did the 2 other debates you agreed to with me, then backed out of First off, you contradict yourself via your proposed mechanisms without even realizing it. Coffee elevates cortisol acutely but does not affect long term cortisol levels. Acute changes in cortisol reflect fuel mobilization responses, not anything sinister Then you contradict yourself by saying 'no movement' because exercise is well known to elevate cortisol acutely. So if coffee only elevates cortisol acutely, but so does exercise, how is one bad but the other one good? Answer: You have no clue because you only care about creating clickbait... not accurate information
Gary Brecka@thegarybrecka

Debate me: Your “healthy” morning routine might be wrecking your hormones. - Coffee on an empty stomach - No sunlight - No movement That’s cortisol chaos.

MLB’s longest active on-base streak is 42 games. MLB’s longest active scoreless innings streak, among starting pitchers, is 22.2 IP. Shohei Ohtani holds both.

@fandompulse Has there been a ruler in history that took the throne in their prime after living 87 years, fought in multiple wars, educated by the wisest people in the world, and built relationships with leaders in every region?

George R.R. Martin explains how his Game of Thrones characters wielding power badly is his answer to Tolkien: "Ruling is hard. This was maybe my answer to Tolkien, whom, as much as I admire him, I do quibble with. Lord of the Rings had a very medieval philosophy: that if the king was a good man, the land would prosper. We look at real history and it’s not that simple. Tolkien can say that Aragorn became king and reigned for a hundred years, and he was wise and good. But Tolkien doesn’t ask the question: What was Aragorn’s tax policy? Did he maintain a standing army? What did he do in times of flood and famine? And what about all these orcs? By the end of the war, Sauron is gone but all of the orcs aren’t gone – they’re in the mountains. Did Aragorn pursue a policy of systematic genocide and kill them? Even the little baby orcs, in their little orc cradles? Real-life kings had real-life problems to deal with. Just being a good guy was not the answer. You had to make hard, hard decisions. Sometimes what seemed to be a good decision turned around and bit you in the ass; it was the law of unintended consequences. I’ve tried to get at some of these in my books. My people who are trying to rule don’t have an easy time of it. Just having good intentions doesn’t make you a wise king." What do you think Tolkien would have thought about such comments?

@CaryKelly11 This is moronic unless the guy is low carb (which would be a stupid diet if watching cholesterol). 45g/lb is plenty to avoid adverse cognitive issues.

Person: I need a pound of ground beef. Me: Which kind? P: The 90%. I'm watching my cholesterol. M: I'm no doctor but leaner isn't automatically better to manage cholesterol and overall health, IMO. The right amount of fat with protein helps with satiety and nutrient accessibility and if we don't get enough fat, we risk cognitive problems. P: But my doctor says the studies show that fatty red meat is a widowmaker. M: It's not that simple. People will eat a fatty burger with a bunch of fries, sugary ketchup, syrupy soda and blame the burger. That's exactly how the folks who sell cholesterol drugs and do these studies frame it. C: Give me the 80%. M: My man!

For reference here’s some fun info about other QBs: Patrick Mahomes: -Defense averages 23.9 points against in the playoffs -Record is 4-3 when defense gives up 28+ points (Allen’s defense) #ChiefsKingdom Jalen Hurts: - Defense averages 21.5 points against in the playoffs - 0-3 when defense gives up 28+ points - 1-4 when defense gives up 23+ points #FlyEaglesFly Lamar Jackson: - Defense averages 19.2 points against in the playoffs - 0-1 when defense gives up 28+ points - 0-6 when defense gives up 17+ points #RavensFlock Joe Burrow: -Defense averages 18.9 points against in the playoffs - 0-0 when defense gives up 28+ points - 1-2 when defense gives up 23+ points #WhoDey Drake Maye: (since Pats fans wanna talk) - Defense averages 13.8 points against in the playoffs - 0-1 when defense gives up 28+ points - 0-1 when defense gives up 17+ points #NEPats Josh Allen: -Defensse averages 28.4 points past the Wild Card round -Defense averages 24.6 points against in the playoffs and - 4-1 when defense gives up under 23.9 points against (Mahomes) - 4-0 when defense gives up under 21.5 points against (Hurts) - 4-0 when defense gives up under 19.2 points against (Jackson) - 4-0 when defense gives up under 18.9 points against (Burrow) - 2-0 when defense gives up under 13.8 points against (Maye) Maybe we should dig a little deeper before putting out misleading stats. If Allen had any of these other guys defense he’d have multiple rings by now. The only fans that have a right to talk is Chiefs fans. #BillsMafia

@ThatARCGuy If a late 30s/early 40s regular guy, who is married with a kid, exchanged inappropriate messages with a minor he would not still have his family. If his employer found out he might not have a career either. Doc is rich with a devoted following so the regular morals don’t apply

Most doctors tell you to eat less & move more to lose weight. But if your insulin is chronically elevated? That advice is useless. Your body is literally locked in fat-storage mode. Fix the insulin problem first. The weight loss follows naturally. Here's what actually works: drbrandonpettke.substack.com/p/the-quickest…

Robb is not considered mad for all the deaths all over Westeros in the WOTFK, but Dany is mad for KL. Avenging a rich white lord is fine, even commendable, but avenging a Black woman freed from slavery is “mad”. This fandom should be studied, really the worst people.
