@NebFarmerDan Some one offered assistance some night helping me pump it full of concrete. I’m sick of no one helping me. They built that in the mid 80s and I’ve never been able to farm through since.

@mikeoswald71 Got a neighbor down here that just piled a bunch of dirt on a culvert on his side of the road we cleaned the ditch on our side to get it to drain. I can send him your way if you need his services.

@mikeoswald71 @Cornfrmr I was taught that it was like screwing the lid on a bottle or whatever. CCW was loosening it, meant maybe rain coming, like taking the lid off and dumping out the bottle. CW was tightening the lid, dryer weather ahead.

Grandpa used to say that a drought moves a couple hundred miles a year. I have no idea whether there is any real science behind it. If it turns out to be true? KC, Omaha, and Des Moines might be in for a tough year.

@clintwfischer I have 2 sons under 35, 1 farms a few qtrs the other is an agronomist. Any tips on getting ground when the farmers above 35 pay top dollar for rent and pay $8000 more then what ground is worth? My boys can’t compete. I don’t have enough for them the run on my acres.

The number of young farmers (under age 35) is on the rise. → up 3.9% since 2017 across the US I think that's a great trend. → Iowa leads the way with an increase of 19.4% One observation: A heavy concentration of these young producers are in the midwest & upper great plains states. I hope support networks & peer groups in these areas will see big membership jumps. There's real value in farmers helping other farmers to navigate the 5 big risk areas in agriculture: -legal -financial -marketing -production -human resources Isolation & lack of belonging to a like-minded community might just magnify the many challenges in production ag.

@TaraLynnSays Started listening to Rush in 92. I raised 4 Rush Babies. Spent 30 yrs listening til I got mad at him for supporting Trump. Quit listening for about 9 mo because I fell for the “drive by” media lies of Trump. I wish I had a chance to apologize for not listening.

Growing up, my mom listened to Rush every day. When she picked me up from school, he was always on the car radio. And stayed on the radio the entire drive home. I listened because he was simply what was on. And then I listened because he made me think. He became my final class of the day. The most impactful one, in fact. I've forgotten everything I learned in Botany, all of Geometry, and the majority of Algebra, but I still remember the critical thinking skills Rush taught me because I use them daily. As an adult, I became my mom. Rush was on my car radio, too. Or office. Or home. He kept me company. He entertained. And, without fail, he always educated. He was the voice of "home" wherever I went in the world. He taught me to question. To listen deeper. To weigh rightly. And to see past all the soundbites to what was real. To what was true. He also taught me to mock what deserved mocking. Not to let anyone use my decency, my compassion, and my emotions against me. And to never, ever, let them take away my joy for life. You can't erase a man with a legacy like that. Because his listeners–US–we are his legacy. And you can't stop people who can think freely. I miss you, Rush. I'll never not miss you.

Things getting wild for this Hamilton Cty, NE sale (high production area) being sold by @BigIronAuctions. 3% gross return cash rent equivalent $571/ac. THREE PERCENT. This has to be the highest piece of ground sold in this area to date. This is well above “average”…
