This was a fun start to a great trip. Another intersection of my past and current work life.

20 years ago, I spent the summer in Billings, doing minor league baseball. Kiley Riley was the PA announcer at our home field…he’s now a licensed pilot, and tonight he’s flying the Pacers to Portland. Sadly, he rejected my offer to serve as co-pilot on this trip.

@kyleriley Meh. Reds really needed a No. 4 hitter to slot behind Elly everyday (Suarez, anyone?) and they didn’t get it, so another disappointing deadline. M’s fared well, however!

BREAKING: The Cincinnati Reds are acquiring third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes in a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates, sources tell ESPN. Hayes is among the best defensive players in baseball and has five years of club control beyond this season.

@mikejzimmer @LarryTrangsrud I loved Chicago when I was there. Absolutely beautiful downtown. Food is amazing! Went to a White Sox game and new Comiskey was a decent place. Definitely going to go back to see a game at Wrigley.

"...I think the game has changed a lot, it would be easiest to blame the pitch clock, in reality everything has a little bit of influence, the biggest thing is the style of pitching has changed so much, everyone is throwing as hard as they possibly can and spinning the ball as hard as they possibly can...it's a double-edged sword...I don't have all the answers...when the balls started to change back in 2016 and started flying out...it changed how I had to approach pitching...I want(ed) swing and miss...I don't how we rewind the clock...the trickle-down permeates all the way to little league...I just hope that we don't wait too long...it's a pandemic and it's going to take years to work itself out..."

@jakeiverson57 For me, it was going to the record store every Tuesday because you didn’t know what new albums were being released that day. (New releases always came out on Tuesday.) Every Tuesday that was baked into the day’s schedule to check out the ‘New Release’ wall.

Haha, Bluey has changed my life. It’s the best show on TV.

So I have never watched Bluey but a lot of my friends who have kids do. Apparently Season 2 Episode 9 titled “Sleepytime” is secretly climbing the IMDb ranks as one of the best eps of tv ever. So of course I watched it. Good god, it’s perfect. Rarely do you see such a simple idea considered in such a complex and relatable way. In just 8 minutes it tackles parenthood, growing up, independence, and family dynamics- all with very little dialogue. I was blown away. Bluey the 🐐 #Bluey #tv #bestshows
